to me it also looks like a P4 in some way as well...tubes in general have become so much more efficient. fluid mechanics should lead everyone to nearly same desired profile, dressing it up along the way will be the only differences.

where would one find a try situation for one of these units.

I wonder what the market forces will do to the price point?

Just saw this newsfeed. Flysurfer has had me amazed with their engineering and persistence in the foil market. Lets hope that they can bring their foil knowledge over to the tube market and really bring something new, that stands out from all the rest. The LEI market seems so flooded, that it really makes you think how easy it would be for a new product to look like all the rest. Also hope that they can continue pushing the foil market as we go along. Now when are the big speed 4's gonna be released?

I've been using FSers since "my" early on and i like what they are.

Flysurfer= "force to be reckoned with - especially in the niche markets."
niche market? niche market sounds like small market.

i see mostly FSers here in winter, on land for skiing/snow boarding.
{i do not do water and i assume those same guys use some or all their FSers for water too.}
'Flysurfer' right off the start sounded like a kite built for water use right (surfer).
...of the thousands and thousands of web water vids I've watched throughout the years rarely have i ever seen a foil.
I bought a "MINT" 19SA2 from a 'water' LEI guy who stated the kite was obviously great but he just could not get his head wrapped around it.
maybe Flysurfer is 'conceding' to LEI to simply make some money or maybe they make an LEI to get more name brand recognition...
whatever but I'd guess they are tired of being the "force to be reckoned with - especially in the niche markets" and would welcome main stream recognition (large market cash in-flow).

I know I love those days when I am the only one who can even get out because of my flysurfer. Most of the time I can even still get some low but floaty jumps out of it while everyone else is stuck on land. This all without ever stepping foot on a door or race board.

I shouldn't gloat but I did pay my dues with the kite. All the LEI guys look at me like I am crazy when riding with foils any other time. I would love for others to be out there riding too in low wind.

You can get a 2013 17-meter Slingshot Turbine/Ozone Zephyr for $50 less than a 12-meter FS LEI, for example.

I do like the self-launch feature, though; something that all FS customers are used to.

Also, I am intrigued by that rear-bridle tech in that last image. It's obviously meant to make the LEI 'brake' and turn like a foil kite. I wonder if it's there to help it relaunch like a FS foil as well?

I like the looks of those bridels and short struts.
I'd love to fly that to see if there is anything to that design.

It king of makes sense from a business point of view. Water based kiting is the largest segment of the market.

First Peter Lynn, now FS and rumours of HQ. I think it will be an uphill battle for all three.

Pin release looks like a great idea but... won't it just flap around, waiting to make holes in things?

Wondered about the pin release, maybe I can't get my head around it properly. It looks intended to pull free, with the correct tug of the bridle, releasing the weight that is holding it down. What happens with that pin when you are off flying? Just flapping around, waiting to puncture the kite when you slam it into the ground? I'm sure they must have thought of that, and the pictures just aren't showing that part of it. Also will it come in a deluxe edition? Or is that material to fragile for single skin application?

HQ's already been confirmed.

You can discuss it in this thread.

And no, FS is definitely not 'giving up' on the surf foil industry. This is what made them distinctive from the competition,
and with the larger-sized Speed4's coming up, they are still engaged in developing them as well.
The Cronix is likely just a quick experiment to see if they can put their innovations in foil tech into use in LEI's.
Surf foils are here to stay, and if anything, they should be gaining a bigger image in the kitesurf industry.

Confirms my recent suspicions. Those rear bridles do in fact help the Cronix relaunch like a foil.

Also, Flysurfer just released this video today showing more of the kite's features, claiming that those rear bridles can additionally create "maximum low end."
It looks like you can also adjust the kite's camber profile to alter the kite's lift and low end:
