Wondering if there are any longboarders here that can help me out.
I bought myself a no-wind present of a longboard. Been after one for a while, and a decent looking one came up in budget on ebay, so I bought it
(little bit of an impulsive buy...)
The board is an Original Apex 37. The older model (~2008 I think ?) I kinda like it, but I'm a little concerned that it's to flexible for me. I'm ~14
stone (bit of a fat boy, I know) and the board is a medium flex I think. I only found that out after I bought it though, lol. The first thing I
noticed when having a play is that it is really flexy for me. I can cruise back and fourth okay, but if I stand in the middle it does feel veryyy
flexy. I'm not 100% sure I trust it. If / when I improve (I'm pretty crap at the mo) I'd like to do some freeride / dancing kinda stuff, and I'm not
sure it would be wise to jump etc on a board that is so flexy for me.
Any advice ? I'm wondering If I should just sell it on, and buy another slightly stiffer board ???
-How much flex are you experiencing?
-Much more than I was expecting. But I don;t know what is normal for a longboard. I was expecting it to feel more like the mountain boards I have had
in the past.
-Does your stance place your feet inboard, over, or outboard of the trucks?
-I'm putting my feet right on the outside of the grip taped area. An inch or two inside of the trucks.
