Are you in North America or Europe?

I'm not familiar with BPKA (I'm guessing the British Power Kite Assoc.??), but in North America, most are usually dependent on NAPKA (North American Power Kite Assoc.) for most of the insurance issues.

Kiting insurance is not a requirement in the US, so not all kiters here are insured or are members of NAPKA. (I'm not though I will be eventually).

One of the fellows on this forum is the President of NAPKA, so I'll let him chime in and do a better job than I.

I'm going to take a nap now

Assuming you are in the UK/EU from you profile, I believe the British Kitesurfing Association has rebranded themselves as the British Kitesports Association, even though they have retained the old URL/domain.

Their insurance now covers: Kite Surfing, Power Kiting, Kite Buggying, Land Kite Boarding, Kite Skiing, Snow Kite Boarding and Kite Cats.

Territorial Limits for coverage:
Worldwide but excluding the following countries:
Afghanistan, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Ivory coast, Nigeria, Pakistan (other than Punjab and Sind Provinces), Palestinian Territories, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.

ATB,
Sam

I'm in the UK, most of the guys I know (including myself) use the SPKA. Cheap (cheaper than BKSA), instant coverage, for all kite sports, all over the world. Definitely the option I'd recommend :) Although BKSA is also a good choice.

Take care,
