I have always wanted to have the smallest quiver possible while being able to fly in almost all reasonable winds. Of course, there are other criteria, but I have a theory on how to achieve the 3 kite quiver (for land...don't know jack about water.)

Criteria (in order)
1. Safety
2. Performance
3. Speedy setup & teardown
4. Packs small (so you can always carry all 3)
5. Floats in water

I've settled on Flysurfer for now, and it's a pretty good match for all those thus far. The arcs are also awesome, but miss the boat on 3 and 4 to some extent. So my (as of yet untested) theory for the Flysurfer 3 kite quiver with full reasonable wind coverage is this:

1. Flysurfer Unity 6m
2. Flysurfer Speed IV 10m
3. Flysurfer Speed III 15m (until the IV comes out)

Obviously, that entire quiver would have to shift up for water, but for snow, land and buggy, I think you'd be riding from 5 mph to 30 mph comfortably with that quiver.

What is your dream 3 kite quiver?

I think you could do it with two kites. Id say a lightwind kite like 19or 21 speed 3, or a 14m Montana even though it wouldn't float in water. Then I would get a highwind kite like a 10 or 13m arc for the days when the wind is 30mph plus

Sounds cool to me Dave,... But I just like having lots of kites.

I'm a new big fan of the PL Reactor II's,... Only cuz I haven't tried the Reactor 2013. That said, I'd probably do well with:

1. Either a 2.8m or 3.5m RII (or R2013)... Probably 3.5m though.
2. 5.5m RII (or R2013)
3. 8.6m RII (or R2013)

We typically have lighter winds around Atlanta so bigger is better, and I'm pretty sure this would cover a good majority of our ATL wind range. For instance, my 2.6m Viper S is an awesome kite, but honestly doesn't see a great deal of buggy seat time. I'll use it in wind over 14mph, but that is a REAL rarity.

I think if I can only have 3 kites I would go with Flysurfers, Arcs and Rev's.
I can live without LEI, Open cell , FB , Cquads and NPW's if I have to !

I'm going for quality over quantity these days. Although I've had some great low wind days in the past I'm going to pass them up unless I really can spare the time to drive all the way to the beach.

Low wind being anything forecast below say 15mph-20mph. I guess I'm lucky to live in a relatively windy location, so wind of 20mph upwards is a two kite quiver for me, a 7m & 9m Genetrix Hydra.

My garage is full of kite bags and I'm considering a clearout as I find keeping more than two or three LEI's expensive to maintain and mice only end up chewing their through anyway.

I do have a three buggy quiver though.

Yeah...with depower its possible to have a 3 kite quiver (or at least that's my theory). With FB, not so much. But then again, you can pack like a dozen NPW's into one bag, so you don't need to worry about it.

I can't imagine only having like a 3m, a 6m and a 9m FB and thinking I was good. Of course, maybe if one was hyper adjustable like a blade IV.... Hrm.

Proletariate your fundamental flaw is "all reasonable winds". 80% of the wind you encounter in colorado is unreasonable

Soliver we have almost completely given up on the large Reactors (8.6, 10.2) out here as they are completely not happy with light gusty conditions. We regularly see 3/4 to full circle of wind direction change and volume of 0 to 15 mph in a 4 hr period (like today).

RedSky half of our good kite days don't exceed 10 mph, enjoy your winds.

P there are only 8 NPWs in that bag (45 sq m)

My ultimate 3 kite land quiver for ATB and snow would be Ozone Frenzies 7 9 & 11 - That would cover me for all conditions worth riding in.

My "realsitic" ideal quiver is getting a 6m Access to go with my 10. (ordering it tonight in fact) Mostly I kitesurf these days so Its just not worth spending £2500 on a quiver of frenzies. I always find that really light wind isn't that exciting and really strong wind (over 25 kt) starts getting dangerous so 2 kites is plenty for me.

3 kites is more important on the water 7,9,12. is a great quiver or 8,10,14 if you are 90kg or over. that will do from 14 - 35kt.

If I could only have 3 kites for everything I would have Naish Parks in 7,9,12. Its an awesome kite for waves, freestyle and snow and it does the job for landboarding.

Why does your land quiver need to float?

For me, so far anyway, the 9m, 12m and 18m Phantom seem to be the kites I fly the most. I fly the 18m in winds from 8-15mph, then switch to the 12m for winds from 15 to 25mph, then switch to the 9m for winds from 20 to 30-35mph(now that is a rush). I have the 15m and 6m as well but have only flown each of those a couple of times. Every time I pull the 15m out I wish I had the 18 or 12 out and the two times I pulled the 6m out the wind was so dirty, it was sketchy flying it so I packed it back up. Can't wait for some clean high wind to fly that one in:D

All this is based on buggy riding, not water or board

So I guess for me the 9m, 12m, and the 18m Phantoms cover me for most of the wind I get and fly in.

Why would you want only three kites? but in reality if i am flying depower it is with the 15 charger 2 in 10-15 and over 30 mph and the other is my 19 venom 2 between 15 and 30 mph.

Actual 3 kite quiver I fly: Slingshot Octane 5m 2010 (super rare to use) Slingshot Rev 9m 2008 (lots of use) Slingshot Rev 15 2009(go-to kite). Trying to turn the 5m into a 7m, and add a 12m for when the 15's not enough and the 9's not big enough boosting. :p

I've heard you guys talk about the bum winds you have, it's not quite as bad here, but still tricky at times... Direction changes more frequently in lighter wind, but usually still useable to some degree. I've really been enjoying my 8.6m, what little I've flown it.

I think for the most part, the 3 FB kite quiver I listed would work for me in 80 to 90% of conditions for me.
