maybe i should get a nasa wing??
Seems every time I finally get time to go out I have soo many problems. For one the winds in eastern south Dakota suck. Gusty on off wild winds.. Also
the field I have permission on is a hayfield. So it all depends if its cut or not.. Long grass no fun. So I was thinking maybe with a Wing I could
spend time in parking lots on short lines and maybe get more time in.. Also in the winter in the buggy on ice I have problems with the lines snagging
the ice when I am trying to launch which is usually by myself. Would a wing alleviate some of these problems? I'm in a buggy all the time too. No land
boarding yet..

I have been making and flying nasa wings for over 5 years now. In gusty inland wind they have kept me out of trouble. And as you mentioned they can
be flown on short lines or with no lines depending on the parking lot.

The Nasa's are definitely better in the gusty conditions as they are much lighter and easier to keep going in the lulls and being a slower kite, they
don't tend to suddenly accelerate in the gusts. I've thought about short line buggying in a parking lot myself but never actually done it except for
once on a claypan with a 2.5m Nasa Star 2 on 6m lines in 25 knots. Had to furiously work the kite to get going but once I got up to speed, it pulled
hard. And having very little lift, you can use them as a brake with much less chance of being lofted than a foil.
Don't know if they would help with the bridle snagging problems although I know my NS2's have thicker bridles than most of my foils - whether that
would be a help or hindrance, I'm not sure.
Aside from all that, they are excellent value for money and great kites. So YES, you should get one!! With short lines, you may need to go a bit
bigger in size than if you were flying on long lines. Susan's kites are highly recommended and Steffen at Born-Kite is great to deal with too.

Yeah I want one too!
I tried a NW from a local friend of mine bought from Belgium. It was a 3mtr mutil-colored and with a car racing chequered flag effect. Very nice.
But woah! Very powerful too! It gave my arms a serious work out. I tried landkiting on it and it was quite easy to control and keep going but trying
to hold ground upwind was a struggle, as they don't tend to hover as well as other kites around the edge of the wind window.
However, I would love to have a 4 or 5 mtr one with a chicken loop for my harness.
Anyone importing these and selling in Australia?

Not to my knowledge. Nocando in Sydney got one from Sue (I think). And I got my Nasa Star 2's from Steffen at Born-Kite in Germany - about 9 days
delivery time to Vic.

I see by your number of posts that you are a newbie. Susan has made more kites than all of us combined. She makes the kites in any color you want and
they are the best. I have them from 2m up to 15m. One day the 32m will make the trip from LA to WA and look out world. Give Susan, aka kitemaker4, a
ring and see what she has to say and no doubt she will make you a great kite.
Besides she cleans up real good. One of the perdyest girls in Louisiana. My wife even said so.:saint:
Appex buggy, Libre hardcore buggies.
Flexboardz. Blokarts.
PKD Century Soulflys. NPW's. Nasa Stars.
A few other less flown oddballs,
Line sets from 10" to 328" or 2m to 100m.
worlds only AQR that works.
North American distributor for PKD.
