There's this stuff called EL wire. Electro Luminescent. It isn't as bright as LED but it is cheap ($1 per foot) and lightweight. Powered off of a
battery pack... You can find it on amazon.

I put 4 glow sticks on my Symphony 2.2 at the beach one night, it was sweet. I'm working on some LED arrays for it...
