i got a board at a very good price $85 nz dollars with free postage ,the person selling it imported it from the uk and never used it ,it also comes with a bar and strings ,it will arrive next week in the post ,please would someone be able to help me with the kite bar thing,how do i know if its a four string bar or a two string bar ,once i know whats what then i will get a kite and wind meter ,i am very excited and even got a kite buggy on my watch list in an action and if i can get it cheap enough my grandson will have the board and i will have the buggy,i am looking forward to living it up and having some fun ,here is a photo of the board i bought

Ok....put the board away...u guys have to get the flying thing down first...way back in the closet...now looks like u have a HQ 3line bar there like for a Rush 300 but I'm not positive and neither are you so put that behind the board in the closet..it will come in handy some time but this is not the time...IMO u should get a ready to fly compleat kite from somewhere so you aren't playing games and have a foil that we know is going to do what it's intended to...once you have time and understanding of all the dynamics going on then take the bar out and get it something for the other end..it's not gonna save u enough $$ now to justify the frustration it most likely will cause..in fact I vote u do get a 3 line HQ rush kite its a good starter than this will serve as back up or pick up a used 2/3 m....or ignore me...either ones fine

hi i am looking at getting a 4 line peter lynn 3.5 meter kite or i will look at buying a 2.5 training kite with bar ,dont worry it be a while before the board is used and will be more for my grandson,i bought a peter lynn buggy today as well as a wind meter and will spend many hours flying and learning watching youtube and read as much as i can on here,all advise is greatly appreciated

They don't look like a high quality board . The tires on the one in your picture look less than great ? That said, I think you are both lightweights and the board will be fine. You will probably want to change up the bearings sooner than later ?

That looks like a very basic bar with only the leader lines . NOT fly lines. It should work on a 4 line kite but I suggest you buy one complete with lines and handles. The bar is O.K. but flying with handles gives much more control . With the bar you will essentially have a 2 line kite with reverse launch and safety . Not a bad thing but not the best a 4 line kite can offer you. If you buy a kite RTF with handles it is easy to swap over to that bar. Then you can decide.

The Osprey line is a budget board out of the the UK.

• All maple Deck
  
• Two Post Velcro bindings.
  
• Hubs are nylon (don't think it's fiber reinforced or anything).
  
• The tires are non-pneumatic. Upside is they are punture-proof. Downsize is they are not meant for heavy use and will do little to dampen surface irregularities.
  

Essentially a very basic board to get people a board on a modest budget.

Most of the components can be upgraded along the way. The maple deck will be heavier than a composite deck, but not a problem for general cruising. Any damage from water or delamination just needs to be nipped in the bud should they arise.
