what's the better depower quiver

So I've been riding a 4.5, 6, 10, 14 depower foil quiver since around 2008 and while the models have changed its always been some kind of combination of kites like that.

I'm starting to wonder if the better quiver is something like a 5/8/12.

My 10 has been my goto kite for years but sometimes there's a gap between that and my 6. My 14m is a killer lightwind weapon but at only 145#s, by 12mph or so I'm putting it away.

So I start to think, would I be better served with a 12m for my lightish wind kite, an 8m for my mid and a 5m Apex or my 4.5 Yeti for those bomber days.

Is it crazy to be without a 10 and jump between an 8 and a 12 or if you are light, like me, what do you find yourself riding the most (no arcs please, I"m not interested in going that route).

I fly my 10m Access 90% of the time landboarding and 99% of the time snow kiting. When its really too much I put the 6 up.

I have often wondered if i would be better off with 7/11 or 8/12 quivers because the 6m gets used so little but that really just proves what a good size a 10m is :)

Might be nice to have a 13 or 14 for the bottom end.

It sounds like your problem may be the 6m ? Too close to the 4.5 and too far from the 10. 10 is such a nice size. Maybe a 7 - 8 m instead ? If you are putting the 14m away at 12mph that doesn't seem like too big a gap to the 10?

I find it interesting you are so pleased with the 14m Eskimo as a low wind weapon . I just traded mine + my 15m Aurora for a 19m SA2 . It is a good low wind kite but was competing directly with my 18m Phantom and neither gave the bottom end to be a " day saver " . I knew the EsS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K- had to go the day I was stuck while a buddy was out tearing it up on a 12m Seed 3 deluxe.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.

Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Before I bought the 14, a 6m bego was my light wind weapon and that thing was killer but as long as I can get the eskimo in the air, I can ride with it and if it won't fly, I find the conditions to generally be unrideable for what I like to do. But again, at 145 I consider myself light and I'm riding only at the beach with a nicely compacted sand surface. The problem is my 6. Its too close to my 4.5 and just a tad far from my 10 so when riding it I find I'm generally underpowered or pushing overpowered and rarely have a day when I think I'm in the sweet spot for that kite which is why I got to wondering would an 8m be better than a 10/6 combo and would a 12m serve me just as well as my 14 or would that leave me in a situation where I'm underpowered when I use to fly my 10 and underpowered when I use to fly my 14 and thus completely unhappy.

I have been considering swapping the 6 out for a 7m Montana or 7.5 Apex. Maybe that's the safer bet for now. Anyone interested in a like new 6m Yeti? Great kite, just not the best for me given what bookends it.
