Well, I know this one guy, Peter something.....what was his name..... Oh, yes, Lynn!

(Eager to see what you come up with, I love seeing people's home-made kites!)

A guy that goes by the name Teethgrinder in the UK did.

Some pictures of a smaller one he did here:

As noted in the 3rd picture in the link above.... such endeavors are best pursued.... with the aid of a cat. :D ;)

And a larger one here:

I haven't made an Arc, but I have made Peter Lynn's Pilot foils.
They are a single liner for hoisting cameras, banners etç. And only have 4 cells. I estimate it takes 1hr/cell to cut, sew and bridle.

When you think of the number of cells in an Arc (20ish?) It adds up quickly! No surprise that homemade foils are rare!

If you want a taste of foil building I highly recommend building a Pilot first to see how it goes.

Homebuilt: 1m NPW9b, 2.6m NPW21, 7m NPW21 UDS
HQ: 3.2m Crossfire, 5m + 7m Apex 3
6m Ozone Explore v2

Not if you have a ton of expirience building foils and some heavy expirience building and working with Arcs.

There are a number of people that can repair and modify arcs with relative ease but I don't know of anyone who has actually assembled and arc from scratch. Let alone one with the performance envelope of the Charger 10m. In the time that I've spent flying these things I learned that very subtle changes, just a millimeter or two can change the way the kite functions.

Amazing.

But just because someone isn't doing doesn't mean it's not worth trying.
