Rattled another pair of GI Vegas Hubs to death..Woo!
Guess santa should bring me some new hubs. Maybe I'll try trampa.
Now my GI are riding a bit too much like I stole someone's spirograph set...again. Pretty wheels, but my side-loads and impacts just are eating the
center hub at connection to exterior hub.
I guess my component conversion away from GI begins. Sad to really say goodbye to a company I enjoyed, and I kind of liked being GI here in the heart
of MBS-dom.(MBS HQ is about a hour drive away.)
Trampa Hypas look to be a possible straight replacement based on sizes? Any advice there / chance to pimp your brand . ;D

i could never get more than about 30-40 hours out vegas hubs , the lateral pressure kills them , DOWNHILL only.. but they make nice back up when
regular goes down and can just throw one on in the field.
the tarantulas are for down hill. they are full on cool with carbon barrel, BUT the bearing holder set up with the plastic shimms thing WILL NOT WORK
FOR KITING. i would drop a shimm every session! after about 2 weeks they were all gone! i tried numerous way to keep the in.. what madness! if you
change OD bearing size (different form stock) with out the shimms its $$ to an odd ball size for 25$ each! instead of 10 for 15$ and a bastard to
breakdown.
i am down to 1 new full set of crossairs , though the rest (3 sets) are hanging on with only a few melt downs. still have a virgin complete
composite flight , i have yet to touch it. i got it from tridude some time ago.
the worst, down my last set of spare cubes! they are only 4's so they won't last too long ..trampa is coming!
Are you going for light weight or durability.
the strongest hubs are usually the mbs trispoke but they weigh 2 lbs 1 oz each, for light weight i suggest either the rockstar pros or the rockstar
II's, stay away from twistars, Ive heard several stories of the locking mechanism breaking.
I am looking for durability over weight...just have to do some more crunches to get feet up if I end up with nearly 10lbs of wheel....lol

Thank you for the heads up about Terraintula≠kiting hubs. Sad that Vegas hubs don't stand up to kiting, as they were the standard issue on the
Prodigy90, GI's 'kite' board...

Do all your pumps employ a flip lever to attach/secure? Those tend to be oversized because of the design.
The air pump heads that thread onto the Presta valve tend to be way more compact.
You always think that you are going to dump a ton of air when you unscrew them. However, in practice, you lose no more air than you do with the flip
levers.
Haven't found a hub that I haven't been able to air up including CrossAirs or even MultHubs.

the trick with screw valve pumps is MAINTAINING VALVE ENGAGEMENT while screwing back..or just do it really fast. can be tough on some stuff esp.
with busy/tight designs.
