I received my seat harness today I think I could of used a size smaller. With jeans and a t shirt on I have the harness straps almost to the end of
the straps, I hope snow pants and a jacket will take up some of the room.
I am waiting for ice and snow on the area lakes to try the harness but first impressions it looks and feels well built but seems kind of bulky. I am
not sure the clicker bar is all that great for the winter time but we will see.
So far the only harnesses I have used to this point is the HQ harnesses so I don't really have much to compare to. There is an incredible amount of
back support with this harness I guess that is what I was going after when I made the purchace. I dont have the worlds greatest back and wanted to be
able to just sit back and hold on for the ride.
Any one elce have an opinion on harnesses?
So many kites so little money! Really I'm Broke!
HQ 5.5m, 8m & 11m Apex 4
Ozone Frenzy 11m
Cabrinha Switch Blade 14m & 10m
Cabrinha Stylus 155cm
Most of the snowkiters here generally oversize by one size to allow for the extra bulk of winter layers. But even oversized most can be adjusted down
to fit well for summer use. At least that the case with the Dakines.
The HQ harness doesn't provide the same level of back support as your Mystic Force but it does offer more freedom of movement. Nicer if you have to
skin or do a lot of walking around. The HQ also has a broader fitment range per given size than the Dakine.
For less bulk, the Ozone harness is essentially a waist harness mated to climbing harness leg loops. It offers the most comfort in that it's not the
"diaper" effect that you get with a true seat harness but the trade off is support, warmth, and added protection in a crash or hip check on the ice.
It also is a "one size fits all" harness. They don't make them in specific size ranges. One might argue size flexibilty can come at the cost of
getting a true performance fit out of it.
It all depends and balance of need vs. want.
On the boiler plate a seat harness makes life a lot easier.
Not sure what you mean by "the clicker bar".
If you want to be able to just ride powered, lean back in the harness and just cruise you made a good choice IMO.
Seat harnesses by and large are

That's pretty slick. Have you tried putting it on with gloves on? Since the guys that came up with it weren't thinking snow/slush/ice it might be
kinda funky on the off chance you get slide on your belly. If snow and ice get packed into it it might freeze up, might have to sit in a car with the
heat on to get your harness off.
With the Dakines it seems we always have to do some minor readjust over the course of the day or even at the beginning. Easier for me to get my fat
tuckus into the harness with the straps loose and just crank the straps when I clip my spreader.
It would be nice to be able to just harness up like putting on a seat belt. :D

The red release buttons look large enough to operate with gloves.
In case of ice buildup/freeze, I think you are supposed to detonate the carefully hidden explosive bolts to free yourself.
Alternatively, you could waste the 20 year old whiskey in your flask to melt the ice. I know some people would still opt for the explosive bolts
rather than engage in that kind of alcohol abuse.
