Go Pro MicroSD Manufacturer Recommendations
Seems to be the season for GoPros. Just wanted to share this resource from the GoPro website with specific recommendations for the MicroSD card to
use.
I bought the SanDisk Ultra and it was not acceptable for getting decent video on my Hero3 Black.I replaced it with the Lexar from Amazon and have had
great results. Now I have to get a faster computer to be able to edit my videos..

SD Card Recommendations
It's important to use one of the recommended SD cards in your camera, or you may experience freeze-up or video corruption issues.
We recommend only purchasing name brand SD cards through reputable resellers. There are both counterfeit and underperforming SD cards out in the
marketplace, which can prevent proper functioning of your HD HERO camera's features.
Here are the SD card requirements for each camera:
HERO3: Black Edition & HERO3+ Black Edition Cameras
A Class 10 MicroSD card up to 64 GB is required.
Not all Class 10 microSD cards have the same data write speeds. If you plan to shoot in 4k, 2.7k, or Protune video modes with your HERO3: Black
Edition or HERO3+ Black Edition camera, we recommend using one of the following microSD cards for the best performance:
SanDisk Extreme 32GB microSDHC (SDSDQX-032G)
SanDisk Extreme 64GB microSDXC (SDSDQX-064G)
Lexar 32GB SDHC 600x (LSDMI32GBSBNA600R)
Lexar 64GB SDXC 300x (LSDMI64GBBNL300R)
Delkin 32GB SDHC (DDMICROSDPRO2-32GB)
Delkin 64GB SDXC (DDMICROSDPRO264GB)
Samsung 64GB SDXC (MB-MGCGB/AM)
With the camera software update released July 29, 2013, using other microSD cards with your HERO3: Black Edition camera while shooting in 4K, 2.7K and
Protune video modes may result in a reduction of the data stream rate from 45Mb/sec to 35Mb/sec.
For HERO3 Silver and White Editions, any class 10 microSD cards can be used, including SanDisk Ultra and Lexar.
HERO3: Silver Edition & HERO3+ Silver Edition Cameras
A Class 4 MicroSD card up to 64 GB is required.
A Class 10 MicroSD card up to 64 GB is required for 0.5 sec Time-lapse, 10/1 Photo Burst, and Protune.
HERO3: White Edition Camera
A Class 4 MicroSD card up to 64 GB is required.
A Class 10 MicroSD card up to 64 GB is required for 0.5 sec Time-lapse.
HD HERO2 Camera
A Class 4 SD card up to 32 GB is required.
A Class 10 SD card up to 32 GB is required to use 0.5 sec Time-lapse, 10/1 Photo Burst, and Protune.
HD HERO Original Camera & HD HERO 960 Camera
A Class 4 SD card up to 32 GB is required.

I ordered the sd card gopro recomended off amazon for 15% less.
One big problem I found with the larger sd cards is that they are tooooooo noisy for the phantom and 350 QX quadcopters. Spent some time talking to
all 3 manufacturers about the problem, (the sd card is to noisy for the gps to lock on the quadcopters). Had to order a sheet of copper foil to sheild
the camera from the gps. The copper sheet was only 6 bucks, the new sd card thats not noisy is 179.00 for 16gigs.

Interesting. Never considered EMI/RFI as a factor but it's definitely worth considering with your particular application..

Yes. Was super stoked to pick up the new Black 3+ the other day, only to find a million web pages full of SD issues with the new Black and 3+. Finally
settled for the Lexar 600x. Seems to be the most recommended and the least amount of issues reported. Should be here in a few days. Will def report my
findings. Fingers crossed.

Most of the issues are related to the media not being fast enough for the data rate. The Hero3 & 3+ Black have some incredible resolutions and
frame rates for the size. It's tough for media designed for a tablet to keep up.
You'll be very happy with the Lexar.

From experience, Trying to get the one time shot and missing it because you had the wrong memory card is worse..
