Braking Kites (How does it work?)

Hello all, just a general question, how does pulling the brake lines on a power kite "brake" the kite?

Thanks!!

The brake lines attach to a rear bridle which in turn is attached to the trailing edge of the kite. Pulling on the brakes changes the kites shape and thus the airflow over the wing allowing the kite to stall. I hope I got that right otherwise I'm in for some flak.

I have noticed that the old profoils were awesome at being able to do a panic stop by tapping the brakes. They are fun to go screaming towards the ground and just freeze in the air if you pop the brakes.
