SoloShot - First Test

Got me a SoloShot for Xmas and had some super light wind yesterday...This thing is cool for the lone-boarder/buggier that needs a panning camera system.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FM7Nlz3yhM&feature=youtu...

Enjoy!
Steve

Steve- thanks for sharing i had looked at these before and that works well. What camera did you use for the filming. I am thinking that a decent regular video camera would make just amazing shots- i think sony even makes one that you can control the zoom with a remote and then have the tripod pan :thumbup:

Camera

Fly...camera was whatever I had laying around that had a charged battery...(LOL)...

This time happened to be the Canon SD1200.

I agree....next purchase is a true VIDEO recorder (with 40x optical and 1080P)...

For me...I was impressed with the minimal movement needed to pan...

It works best at distances further than 50ft...you can see it get a little off at close distance....I set the "center" a little off to keep me in the right side of the frame (to catch kite too)..

Will post follow-up as I get more video...

nice that you stopped by, were you north or south of the approach?
all I did was fly my quadcopters and raced the traffic with my rc car.
friday, saturday and sunday were great days, no wind, but had fun anyway.

Steve- you sold me:D, mine should be here tomorrow and will start running it through its paces. I think it will work well for me kiting as well as to film the boys during some of their soccer games. Super neat technology

I was out getting a birthday present today and stopped at an outdoor shop to pick it up and they had the solo shot, not a bad setup. sitting next to it was a setup called Swivl Personal Cameraman,
http://www.amazon.com/Swivl-Personal-Cameraman-iPhone-Pocket...

Sam, I ran out of cash so the new swivl will have to wait for next years birthday.:D
So many toys and so little time. Wonder if I need a few more write offs for 2013.:lol:
