I once touched a lion at the Southwick Zoo. We stayed until after the park closed and that must be around the time they feed the lions and tigers as
they were roaring like crazy. So low and gutteral and it sounded like it could be heard for miles. There is a fence and an electric fence that keep
the cats from people but the male lion was pacing and I said, "I think I can touch him." My wife said "don't" but on the next pass I stuck my fingers
through the fence and stroked his hind quarter to the tail. Those who also stayed after closing just looked at me like, "No way" :o and I was like,
