This will be first kite released by Gin Kiteboarding after it have been reopened last year .
As always kite graphics are eye catching and kites are build with legendary Gin quality .
Its a open-C inflatable freestyle kite that will also work well for wave riders and freeriders .
New bar "tonic" also look awesome and safety system needs less then 10lbs of force to be released .


Sad part is that Gin is not planning to sell those in US at this moment, when it will bed available to purchase in Europe in 2 weeks . I am planning to have my mandarin 13m before my trip to OBX in 2 months , then I will post some pics and first impressions ...

Kober, I was looking at the Gin website earlier, are they no longer making depower foils?.... I couldn't see any on the site...

They originally advertised a new version of the Eskimo to be released this winter which, I believe I was told was mostly just a rebranded Sherpa, which I also believe led to licensing issues on the design given the reorg Gin went through. As a result, no foil will be released this year and their inventory of foils is limited to whatever was left laying around in stores (so Yetis if you are lucky but don't count on it).

As Kober mentioned, they also have no distribution in the States and they told me in the fall that was going to take about a year to sort out. It looks like Gin is moving in the right direction albeit ever so slowly. Here's to hoping the Eskimo 5 is resurrected and Gin secures distribution in the States.

Thanks B... I have been toying with the idea of looking into depow, but still it's a long way off, if at all, so no use looking too hard.

I am lucky guy that owns 1 of 20 ever made Gin Sherpa foil kites before Gin was forced to stop production ..... Now when its reopened we will probably see a better version of Sherpa coming next winter .... and I will make sure you will be all informed about it here on PKF ... lol ...

11m and 13m just arrive just in time for next kiting trip to OBX ..... love this new kite smell ,,,,, crispy fabric and bright colors .... so happy ... now I really need this winter to go away so I can do some kiteboarding with those babies ..... !!!!!
