Handles to Bar on fixed bridle kites

Question for you guys. I've been flying static for a couple years now. I've got 3 kites ranging from 3M to 5M. I've got an ATB on the way. I've always flown my kites on handles, but see most vids of ATB flying using a bar. Can I fly my fixed bridle kites with a bar instead of handles when using the board? Can an ATB be used well using handles? Does it limit manueverability or screw up my learning curve? Thanks in advance!

Thanks guys. Always with a helmet. (Learned the hard way on that one, got my eggs scrambled trying to fly.) Can't wait for the snow to go away and get out there! Funny, in upstate NY, no one has even heard of power kiting. I'm like a rock star out there!:o:o:o:o:wee:

This is funny because even in Chicago where kite surfing is pretty popular, I still get approached by people who have no clue what it is I am doing when I ride my buggy. There was once a group of college age kids that were yelling and whooping and cheering at me calling me the "Kite Wrangler." I think because at the time I was wearing a cowboy which basically doesn't exist in Chitown.

You can fly either. One of our club members, who did really well with handles and atb, swapped to a turbo bar - he really enjoys that and seems to fly with that mostly when he's not flying depower.

I'm liking that turbo bar! Going to give the handles a fair chance first since that's what I'm comfortable with. I fly at a local school's rec field and also a farm where I've got hunting permission. It's great flying with lots of room to move.
