Hello everyone. Haven't been on here in a little while due to the crazy amount of work and making money for more, more and more kiteboarding gear. Anyways I was checking out my gear for the past few days out of excitement and getting it ready for summer time and noticed that the fly lines on one of my bars are looking a bit pale and washed out and they also very very easily get tangled. I was wondering if that is a sign that it is time to replace the lines? I saw a few forums that said waxing the lines helps? or should I just leave them alone? Thanks for in advance! It really depends on what kind of lines you have. Most of the time you can just wash them with warm water and it gets the dirt out and they become slick again. If they are high quality Spectra or Dyneema lines, they shouldn't ever need waxing. Wax actually helps attract dirt and grime into the lines and will cause the lines to wear out even quicker.

Usually if you don't have any physical blemishes on the lines they should be fine. Blemishes such as the inner core coming out or the outer core fraying in spots or knots, excessive wear points, etc...


High quality lines will last a very long time.

Does that include Armour All ??

While it isn't a perfect fix undo your lines and run them through your fingers trying to get the twists out of each individual line . Then they will be a bit less likely to grab the lines next to them.
