Peter Lynn Mono Hull Kite Boat - So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye!!!

Just a heads up:

Hunter Brown (formerly of Focus Kite Designs) is selling his Peter Lynn Mono Hull Kite Boat. No price listed, expect there would be so negotiations involved.

Hunter is located in Wilmington, North Carolina. Pickup would probably be the sanest route. Can always ask if shipping is possible, but the boat is 9 feet long and weighs about 50 pounds so I expect there would be a fairly painful shipping charge.

Here's what he posted on FB:

Quote:
FOR SALE: Hey Kite and Kiteboard friends! I'm selling a piece of traction kiting history. This is a Peter Lynn Mono Hull Kite Boat. There were not too many of these produced and I don't think too many made it to the US.

It's lots of fun to ride. You steer the 4 fins on the bottom with your feet. It gets on plane quick and goes up wind really well.

It is about 9ft long and weighs about 50lbs. It is stored indoors and is in great condition. There is no damage to the hull or stainless parts. The fins have a little wear on them but nothing serious.

I've not used it in quite some time and figured it would be good to move it on to someone who will use it. If interested, message me. Feel free to share this with anyone you think might be interested.

If you are interested, but not on Facebook, I can pass along your contact information to Hunter.

And of course, the pics.....

ATB,
Sam

Someone needs to buy the patent off PL and make these.

I would love a go on one.

I have one of these as well. And a Kite Cat so it doesn't get to see alot of action. Its easier to transport than the kitecat, but takes a little more skill. Side waves will knock you off the thing. If his sells and someone is really upset they missed out on it, let me know. Mine is located in northern MN.

Rude. I think you are a whitewater paddler as well. Will paddling skills help to prevent wave flipping or is it just the design I am thinking some hip padding or thigh straps

Exactly.. I always wanted to make more of a seat like the cat, or buggy, instead of the butt dimple. Too hard to stay on if the wave hits you sideways so I would just steer into them. Beauty of a kite boat is you mostly ride them in light wind anyway. If its wavy, strap the board on cuz you should have enough power to stay planning then.

How does the thing work?

It would not be too far of a drive for me to pick up rudeboysaude's if he is willing to sell it.
