wheels and tires

I was just wondering if someone could post a list of items that I would need to change some tires and rims...

Chad is bringing me his mini tire changer...I have BF lights that I'm putting on some flexifoil wheels (yes Cheezy I still owe you) and dumping the new PL wheels...This will eliminate the need for spacers and I can then just bolt and unbolt from barrows to BFL using same 12mm axel bolt.

clean the wheels and tires...
New Valve stems?
soap?
what seals the bead?
things like this so I can buy everything I need and have it ready to do the job.....

thanks again

hey bec
be careful running big foots on 12 mm bolts i bent a few 12mm bolts running big foots.
once bent they are a bear to remove and can ruin the back axle to the point you cant use it anymore
ask me how i know.

That's all I have to use....This will be my 3rd event running them on the 12mm unless someone thinks that the spacer adds to strength (spacer goes from PL 16mm to 12mm) cause I'm still using the same 12mm axle bolt...and I have to say I wasn't very easy on the buggy the last few Bashes...having way too much fun...

Mainly I still love my flexi set up with barrow if the hardpack is under me....I think my weight and size play a factor into this too....

feedback?

No worries here....I never got all bent out of shape on that one...that's pretty much why a forum is a forum....I know we have categories but all we do is talk kites, post pics of kites, and talk kites...LOL...

We should start a thread on the WW forum of people unloading things at WW that could save a ton on shipping even if someone can pick up a buggy for a fellow PKF member and drive it 3 or 4 states....That extra shipping cost sometimes makes or breaks a sale....

Related outdoor gear too that we are all into....since we are all together....:D

I would add valve extensions. Makes putting air in easier(can leave on or remove).Valves can be hard to get air hose nozzle on as they can bet recessed sometimes. Extensions make this no problem.

I would 2nd tubes suggestion-as opposed to tubeless...(I'm thinking less chance for air leaking?)

Now I'm starting to think that maybe the spacer around the 12mm bolt does add some strength...especially since that then goes into a much larger bearing....but then again I've been doing some major power slides...all day long....and nothing on the 12mm????? now I'm jinxed...

valve ext...are a great idea....they are one set of wheels I have and are a lot easier to inflate when needed.

Tubes I am on the fence about....I agree an end to the leaky tire, but does running tubes make the wheel unbalanced?...I know it adds a bit of weight...and if I'm ever going to beat Claude or Danny I either need to lose another 25 lbs... & then you wouldn't even see me sitting in my buggy or put one of those fans on the back like a swamp buggy...

I would think there already is slight unbalance with the tire itself as there are variances in it's manufacture(slight variation in thickness or denseness of rubber over area)..

Also if you're on plastic rims, these could easily have some warp and unbalance...mine do and are main cause of my wheel unbalance and wobble.

Plus...I don't know if wear of tire add to a bit of unbalance.

I know how they balance an auto tire...maybe it could be spun and balanced on some device.

Obviously the faster the speed, the more you feel any unbalances in the wheels.

Do you feel less wheel wobble on soft low pressure Bigfoot tires than say a high pressure bigfoot...or say compared to a barrows tire....?
