flying on the airport runway in Scotland

I thought I'd share a few pics from our trip to the island of Barra in the Outer Hebrides. The island is pretty small but has several wide sandy beaches facing different directions. The funnest of all is the airport beach, where you can fly once the daily plane has taken off. Sorry, I can't figure out how to embed these pictures, you'll just have to click the links.

Plane waiting for take off

Me flying next to the control tower

Bad dad with all the kids on the buggy and no wind

Some Scenery, another beach that I flew on

Enjoy!

Very nice. Fiona's father was a young lad on Barra before going to Glasgow and your photos bring back memories of visiting and bugging there too.
I rode the airport as well as directly across over (across the road and over the dunes) to Traigh Eais beach
thanks for sharing.

Great pictures Jim. I hope you don't mind but I went through them all. Scotland looks amazing especially at this time of year.

No problem, we wouldn't have put the album on the internet if we expected privacy. That picture with all the kids on the buggy should have looked familiar to you, it seems like everytime I go to Camber I end up tootling about with very little wind and a bunch of passengers.

Markite, I'm glad I can remind you of what must have been a good time, and that is a great picture. It makes sense that you are from Ontario, I ran into a native of Barra while there who told me that many people from the Hebrides ended up moving to Canada. Or that's what I thought he said, I could hardly understand a word. Also, he was drunk.
