Hydra 300 or 350b

This is my first post here. I'm a woman about 160 lbs 5'7" and have flown a Quantum Prism stunt kite several times and am thinking about purchasing the HQ Hydra kite. I plan to go to the beach soon and would like to go in the water with it with the hope of doing some dragging in the water.

Should I get the 300 or the 350? It seems like the 350 is a popular size, but not sure if that's too much?

Thanks!

The 350 would be fine on the hydra.

350 will be better if body drag is your goal.

Check out http://kitesurfingschool.org/ for some tips. They have a section on body dragging.

They key to getting upwind is to use your whole body as a rudder. The arm out and using your hand makes all the difference. Having a harness also helps a LOT.

Odds are pretty good you won't get to upwind dragging with a small kite and no harness so just enjoy the downwind ride. DON'T go out in offshore wind.

Be SAFE !

I'll probably go with that one then! Thanks for your advices, I figured so. I'm not expecting tons of pull. I was going to just get a smaller foil kite and saw the Hydra, and then the dragging in the water.

Good point on not going offshore. :). I've read about that and will look at videos on this before I get to the beach.

Thanks again!
