Women, Kiting and the Shared Quiver

She likes that I kite. She's seen me flying and recognizes fun when she sees it. Always has, always will. But is there a downside to this? As it is, my Apex 7.5 is due Thursday, her 2m Hornet before or after.

So she called me today to talk about how I'm not to fly the Hornet first, before her, I countered by denying her my Apex. She giggled~

Is it wrong to think that this same scenario will play out for years and only the sizes and amazingness of the kites will change?

Hahaha, too funny. Once you source a few more kites for the quiver you will find that you will each tend to have a favorite. Just hope and pray that it is NOT the same kite. She may never want to tangle with a FB kite over 4M and also may not want to deal with a harness and the fact that depowers are best flown while moving. Seriously though, the most fun kites are the smaller ones when the wind is good to really get them going. So to avoid a potential conflict of who is going to fly the 2M I'd look for a 3M and maybe also a 4M. Being heavier you can get away with flying a larger kite in the same conditions. That way everyone's a winner and will have a kite in the air!

Have fun with your new toys and remember, there's no such thing as having too many kites.

I've got 4 daughters and I've wanted them to get interested, but the only one old enough just doesn't seem to want to give it a go yet... Hopefully I'll get her to try it eventually. I had a 3m Beamer at one point and I got my wife to try it, but she was only slightly amused... That's why I made the tandem buggy.

If I ever get one of my girls interested, sharing might be an issue, but we shall see.

Years ago we each had our own quivers more or less. Now we share an entire larger quiver simply because it makes sense and there's enough size/weight difference that if I'm on one size she's usually the next size down. There are some kites that have a broad enough depow range that we could both be on the same size in the same conditions but not many.

Like AnnieO said, there are a few in the mix that we consider more specific to each other. For example the 12m Charger 2 is definitely more her kite and the F-Arc 12m is pretty much allocated to my use.:D

No sharing quivers here:D I tried to introduce wifey to four line power kites and it simply wasn't her taste, although she took a liking to stunt kites. We share an interest toward the wind and flying so some type of kite relationship is there. Her appreciation for stunt kites makes my purchases a little easier. She typically just rolls her eyes at me when I discuss a new purchase, which is WAY better than the death stare and a resounding NO!
