Peter Lynn Venom 2, Scorpion, Charger (12-13m)
Hey Guys,
A friend is selling all his foils. I wanted to buy one from him but he had no idea how much to sell them for. What do you guys think they are worth?
a Venom 2
a Scorpion
and a Charger 1
they are all either 12 or 13m and i think all in good/great condition.
thanks!

As strange as it sounds of the 3 kites the Venom 2 is probably the most desirable even though it is the oldest. In my opinion, it is the best behaved
kite of the 3.
The Scorpion is the 1st generation of bridled / VPC kite. The Charger is very aggressive and not an ideal 1st arc.
If he wants them to sell then about $300 - $350 each kite only would get interest. He may be able to ask more but would have to wait for the right
buyer. Selling complete with bar is usually a bit easier.
Depending on what bar he has and the condition about $125 seems right. Maybe more if it is a newer model bar.
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.
Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

thanks bladerunner. i use C-kites on the water. love their precise and aggressive feel, even though they hurt more. Perhaps I would find the charger
the most enjoyable then? Would be using it for snowkiting. Then again, at $300+, maybe i'll just use my inflatables...
Also, said friend would like me to sell the foils for him. So if anyone is particularly interested in one of the mentioned kites, lmk, and i'll be
quicker about getting more details/pictures, etc.

Some public pics and more details would boost the sales. I might be interested in the Venom II

It would really help if you let people know where the kites are located. Shipping can be an issue for some, especially members on a different
continent.

No need to buy an arc or foil for snowkiting. Around here most folks use the same LEI's they use on water. They just size down due to less traction.
The Charger is a good choice if you like a C kite feel . It is the newest model but still should only go for about $300.
The Scorpion will be the hard one to sell and he may have to ask a bit less to get interest.

Blade is right about the Charger 1 having the closest performance to a C-kite. But it will have a ton more depow and better gust handling.
His price sounds pretty close depending on condition. Charger 1's are sometimes heavily devalued (IMO) here in the states due to their reputation. A
lot of people like the idea of a high performance Arc but in practice most found it scared the pants of them. :D:evil::D She's a great kite, loves
to be flown aggressively. Still my favorite Arc. (followed neck and neck by the Phantom 2 and the F-Arc. hehehe)
Agreed the Venom 2 is the easiest of the 3 to sell. The sweet spot in Arc evolution and a jack of all trades.
The Scorpion is a great kite. Takes some finesse compared to the Venom but less hair triggered than the Charger. Goes up wind awesome, floats good
jumps and has a really good turn rate as it was the first production arc with a VPC bridle. Less Popular than the Venom, more appealing to a broader
rider range than the Charger.
The 12m Charger is a riot in high winds.

I agree as well and like Chris I think it really undervalues the charger 1 - it was a great kite for me as a winter kite and several friends still
ride them and I had so e great water sessions using the 12m charger 1 as well. A few chargers had tip clap issues and some Scorpions were twitchier to
launch than others but once up the Scorpions are usually fairly solid and steady. I used my 10m scorpion as a moderately higher wind NABX kite for a
number of years with it taking me into the high 50mph range many times without concern.
For twin skins in good condition I personally compare them to buying two foils in good condition so if you look at a fairly new 12m charger for 350
that's like getting the coverage of at least two foils around 3.5 - 5m sizes at 175.00 each and that's very cheap. And in reality the kite is probably
covers more like 2 1/2 sizes in wind range.
Bars have gone up so much in price that if a seller wanted to sell a bar used and replace it with new he's probably going to spend anywhere from 350 -
450.
