Flying line snapped... time to upgrade? I need help![HELPED]
I'm rather new in this sport. And I think I'm the only one in my county that power kites and ride kite buggy.
Background:
Country: Sweden
Flying location(s): Beaches(bugging and scudding), Ice on inland lakes(buggy with skates)
Flying experience: bought a stunt kite in may this year, crashed it after a month or so... bought a Flexifoil Sting 3,3. started bugging about a month
ago.
Weight : 75 kg
Buggy: Home made with measurement near a PL Competition Standard
Wind speed: statistics 5- 15 m/s, my aim is max <10 m/s.
So to my Q..
For sure I need new lines for my Sting, but I think a kite better suited for kite buggy would be nice.(buggy engine)
I have been looking at HQ Beamer V and Toxic(maybe it is to lifty) here I need your help.
then I have to choose a size..
I'm keeping my Sting for the higher winds and as a test kite for friends and family.
Is a 5 m a good choice?

A HQ Toxic or Peter Lynn Reactor are both good buggy kites designed for that purpose. a 6.9 m for the lower winds, 2.8 for your highest winds. In
between for sanity. I can't tell if your beach is real soft or not in the picture. Either way it looks like a nice spot.

Funny, I was just looking at a reactor 4,4.
The beach in the picture is only good if the winds are from south-sout-west(all my beaches are narrow max 50 m or so) the hardest is flyable in
west-north-west winds. so I need a kit that has good up wind capability.

Big Mike is right, Reactors are some of the most stable kites with an awesome upwind ability. They are designed specifically for buggy use.... I have
3 and LOVE them.
4.4 is a good size, but the Reactors give a lot of bang for the buck, if the 3.3m size works for you and you only want to upgrade your kite to a buggy
machine, get a 3.5m Reactor. I think there is a brand new Reactor 2 in the for sale section, though I'm not sure if shipping to Sweden would make
buying used worth it.
As to the Beamer V, they are great kites, but you will likely find it very similar to your Sting, and they don't have the greatest upwind ability.
Toxics are good if your wind is clean and stable, but my experience with them is they don't handle dirty wind all that well. (We call it Janky wind).
Edit: just saw it's no longer for sale.... Bummer
I'm going to take a nap now

So finally my new kite has arrived...
I went for the Reactor 4.4:D
As always with new gadgets I ripped up the box asap, connected the lines and handles.
I went down to the beach (hardly no wind,0-2 m/s).... But I had to try the kite.
I got it up and when it inflated, WOW. then I got it up to speed and I could feel the power build up........ The maneuverability WOW...
After 1 h I did a 360, landed and went home with a grin mounted on my face for the rest of the evening. :D
Now I have to wait for the right wind to get in to the buggy. It will not happen in 10 days, according the weather services ..
I might fly it static some more this weekend..........
