Wind...

Today was a good windy day but I was in classes until 5:30.. got exciting to go out but I found out that wind speed is 5mph with gust up to 25 MPH.. so it is unsafe. Stupid classes.. it was blowing perfectly earlier today. :-(

very smart to stay in when it's gusting over 100%, I certainly would have a lot more kite days if I would go out into those conditions, but I've hurt myself enough! Glad to hear you're starting off smarter. ;)

Heh, that's about the best wind I've flown in.
So far I've had no good wind, so when I see something like that I grab my board and my 6m NPW. I'm definitely feeling overpowered in that and I expect to be dragged a couple feet every time I fall, but at least it gets me moving and gives me a good workout. Can't wait until I have a day where the steady wind is enough to move me. Thinking the snow will help with that.

5 to 25 is a lot of a small kite on the ground waiting for that 15+ blow to get movin, can be tough days.

for me it's often 15 gusting 45+ which is a great way to get hurt, lol, I have proven it....

Posts like this only serve to remind some PKF users how lucky they are to live on a coast, a desert, or a sick mountain range!

I can't wait for snow, it's the only way I ever get to ride more than a minute in a direction without having to tack.
