The V-max with BF's is a sweet setup, but for our small parks you really need a small light bug to get up to speed in a hurry. We're more after stuff
along the lines of the standard Flexi bug, with a braced back axle for tricking.

thanks the response, we'll probably start the designing with a freestyle buggy with possible accesories to convert the buggy to specific use
(freestyle, race, cruise,...). Then we'll work on a fll race buggy, libre watchout...

I don't think you'll ever find a buggy marketed with a seat belt option, most of them claim the bug is only for cruising up and down a beach at 15mph.
As soon as they say it's for jumping, they may get stuck with some liability issues related to buggy jumping injuries.
As far as I know, Jellis is the only guy around that makes a proper velcro strap style belt but I'm pretty sure he doesn't reffer to it as a buggy
jumping belt either. Still got to give him a shout on that one, my car seatbelt's working, but his setup seems way better.

Buggies'R'us ( o.k. someone can do better ! )
Easy breakdown for transport. 2 sets of easy swap wheels. For beach and hard surface.
I don't have any real experience jumping with it yet but my Velcro strap seems like a perfect seatbelt so far. I put some red tape at one end for easy
tear away.

I build my own buggies specifically for buggying in sand dunes and covering long distances because I have a fair sized desert to buggy in.
I built my latest buggies from mild steel, got them either zinc plated or powder coated.
I prefer the zinc coated ones, which I paint afterwards.
I never have rust problems but there again I don't buggy by the sea and it very rarely rains.
I made my first buggies from stainless & found that they were more prone to fatigue cracking than mild steel.
I used to have problems with side rails bending/breaking until I changed to rectangular tube. I use 25 X 50 X 2mm thick M.S. tube now. Works a
treat.
Dream buggy should have 20 mm dia. stub axles or axle bolts on the rear.
15mm dia. front axles work well but don't go smaller.
Front fork should be wide enough to accomodate a bigfoot lite.
Dream buggy should have a decent seat & comfy backrest.

having the name "whacky racers" would be pretty fantastic. I know theres a game out there by that name and buggying always brings back the memories of
riding custom cars around. Think of the possibilities of a logo with that name!
I dont know if anyone has taken this name for a bug but... Trick-Trike...that would be pretty great as well. I would be lured into buying one.

Thomas,
If you ever come up with a cross between race & freestyle buggy,
maybe you can name it Drag 'n Fly.

Just put the finishing touches to my dream buggy, but I really need two buggies, one for the beach, one for the field.
The 06 Fandango was good for both though I have to say, and I will build a stainless version when I get the time.
In the mean time, the PTW Panther has been sold, and so once I have added covers and decals my new bug will be my dream beach buggy, 60 by 40 swan
neck, BF Lite on the front aysemtrics on the rear, 1750 wheel centres and a 48mm by 1520 wide rear axle.
Here's a sneak preview http://pic7.piczo.com/Popeyethewelder/?g=17734872&cr=7
