Pre-event BBQ

Who's coming early to the DBBB Pre-event? I assume we can do the BBQ on sunday.

I will have my smoker working hard to knock out plenty of ribs for everyone.

I got my computer controlled smoker with atleast 4 slabs of ribs and I will bring a second grill. You guys can bring hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage , and so on.

Other items I can bring if no one volunteers:

1) drinks - soda / water
2) chips
3) plates and utensils
4) a table .. some chairs

If your truck is a 5.4 between about 2003 - 2006, I strongly recommend you not try to change the plugs at this time. Wait until after the event. It usually doesn't go well if they've never been changed before.

Feel free to email or U2U me for more details.

Dave,

It's a 2002 and I did em once before. Keeps sputtering and misfiring, especially in the 40-50 mph speed range.

On way back from lunch today check engine light came on. 0171 and 0174. This morning it cranked fine, but would not strat... turned the key off and on a couple times and started normally... Really think the fuel pump is on it's last legs. Need it to start two more times.... :o

"Keeps sputtering and misfiring, especially in the 40-50 mph speed range. "

Coils can cause that too, but the 171 and 174 are lean codes. ie lack of fuel generally. Changed the fuel filter lately? Otherwise, yeah, it's the pump.

Have a helper crank the engine over while you bang on the bottom of the tank to get it to start that one last time... if you're lucky. ;)

Hey Glenn! Yeah, we talked shortly after y'all got hitched (still in my U2U). That's really great. So did you get your buddies car built too?

Pulled the bed and changed out the pump, strainer, and fuel filter. Ran good for the test drive... Now to finish the project so I can make it to the bbq

I'll see you all there tomorrow morning as well as Thursday. I'm just worried that my FWD car may get stuck in the sand trying to park considering it just rained today. Either I park far up north in that developing neighborhood or I'll pray that one of you has a 4X4 handy to pull me out. :p
