Heading there soon. The beaches in Destin seem pretty much loose sand. Does anyone know of any good nearby locations with hard packed sand or big fields for that matter?

Heading there as in, permanently moving, or temporarily? The biggest issue with the panhandle beaches is the lack of tide on the Gulf. A 1 foot tide or less means no real beach to work with. That said, anything is possible with wind and some creativity. I'm afraid I can't offer any firsthand knowledge of a good beach on that side of Florida. The east coast on the other hand . . .

Just going for a long weekend. Usually go for windsurfing.
