Looks like it's official :D The Nasa Star 3 is now being advertised on the Born Kite website as being available on the 17th. http://www.born-kite.de/

Not much info at this stage but I believe it will have a slightly wider window - which should make it a little faster. And there's some extra trailing edge lines which quicken up the turn response (not that the NS2's were ever slow to turn, in fact, they are the most direct steering kite I've flown).

Finally! I'd been watching for these for quite a while. Excited to hear what's new.

I can't imagine them making the fastest turnng kite on the planet turn even faster. I must figure out a way to get my hands on one of these. It looks like you will still be able to use the same control gear I hope.

Edit: fastest turning kite on the planet may have been an embellishment, but they are very fast turning.

John, have you heard if you will still be able to get the nasa star 2 after the 17th or will the 3 replace it at that point? It's going to take some time for me to like the new graphics. Right now, I like the ns2 graphics much better.

You could always ask Born kites whether they'll do a custom job for you on the NS3.

Yes, good point. It will probably be a little while before I'm able to get one. Most likely I would probably get a 8.5 or 10 if he will still offer those sizes in the 3

Black would be cool. My nasa OCD would force me to get the stock colors in the stock sizes. I would like customizing colors on a custom size though. They will grow on me. There have been several kites I first didn't like the look of and now I think look really cool. The lynx comes to mind. Btw the new lynx looks amazing IMO if you haven't seen it.

I am hoping John receives the promotional NS3 for demo and review any day now

Looks like the NS2 has had the 'boot' off the Born-Kite site with only the NS3 now listed. I guess if you wanted an NS2 you'd have to email Steffen and see if there's any stocks of the 2 left.

Grabbed my 7m NS2 in the nick of time then. Whew......

It looks like they stretched it out a little. I'm not sure how the new servo-lines will affect 4 line conversion. I'm glad the prices only went up slightly and it looks like the same control gear can be used.

I use Chrome normally. Couldn't get it on IE either. Could be settings on my end though. I don't actually find any links where it says article or videos.

Very interesting design changes. Price increase is small. Seems about the same as when I bought my 5.5 - and with the euro down it may still cost less than before for US kiters.

3shot , I am making me a all black NPW 9b right now. I enlarged it some from what it should have been. it should come out about 6.5M2. I was going put something in the center panel, but I think it will look better just all black. I hope to have it done next week, just in time for some snow that they say is coming. I just got some snowblades. I have never used then but they look neat. :alien:
