What helmet to buy for all seasons?

Looking for something that I can use to protect me noggin during the cold and warm months. Maybe a helmet that I can remove the padding from in the summer so it's not so hot? Any recommendations?

I use a boeri ski helmet all year round. It has removable pads around the ears which serve for warmth in the winter and padding in the summer if you fell on the side of your face. But the pads can be removed if you are hot and then there is just mesh to cover the ears - cooler for sure. I've been using the same helmet for 10 years. It has held up well. I skateboard with it in the summer and that's when the ear pads come out.

POC is my goto choice for helmets. I have some issues with some brands as I have a giant head. They come with removeable ear warmers for some of theirs, and I've found them comfortable. You might consider a helmet with enough adjustment to let you slip a super thing beanie under it for winter if it's an issue. The POC one I have has adjustable/closable air vents to match the conditions/warmth and redirected air vent to help prevent goggle fogging.

I have a Bern Watts and love it...(water, land, snow)...even has a little visor built in for those Sunny days...removable ear pads when it gets warm.

Pro-Tec helmets are great too. Wont break the bank either. They are cool in the summer as well. Good all around melon protector.

As 3shot mentioned, Pro-Tec's are good, try looking into Triple 8 brainsaver's as well. Well padded and will protect your head during a fall.

Cheers, Ari

CrazyHerb Yeah I liked the look of your helmet, but they don't make them sized up enough for my big ass head.
