Monday at 13th Beach with the Nasa Star 3. The best run I've had all season. Perfect wind for the 3.2m - 14-18 knots direct on-shore and a decent
low tide and the beach in pretty good condition.
Thanks guys. I enjoyed that even more as I spent the first two and a half hours of the day in the dentist's chair!
Bob, with 16 - 18 knots direct on-shore I'm averaging around 45 kilometers per hour. 35 - 40 degree cross onshore and I can get to about 56 - 58kph
downwind. I'm not giving much away to low aspect foils, but the bigger depowers - Montana's, LEI's, Speed IV are much faster in the same conditions.
This video is the complete package. Camera angles, hang glider, awesome kite, spritely bug, great music.
I loved it. You really convey a sense of effortless fun. as always
Kite sitting at the edge, is that a trait of the nasa ?
I didn't know about parking the Nasa Stars on the edge of the window till I saw Steffen doing it in a video - much more elegant than dropping them
onto the center line - which can result in a bit of spinning on the way down. I have not seen it done with a standard NPW wing, but that's not to say
that it can't be. As I'm running it as basically a two line kite, I don't have the option of backing it down on it's brakes, so I sit it at the side
where 99% of the time it's well behaved. I have had the kite leap into an uncontrolled spin once in probably 100 'parks' so I wouldn't walk away from
it too far while it's parked, but that was in a pretty gusty & shifty situation.
It would truly be a privilege to meet you one day John. Any consideration of coming to the States one day? Would love to share some sand with you at
our annual JIBE event in May!!!

Many thanks for your kind words Ted, Jason & Windy. I would love to get over to some of the events in the states one day and meet you guys if
circumstances ever permit me to do so. I think I'll be stuck 'down under' for a while yet, but you never know.
Quality film making, for sure. A second talent is evident.
One must recognize both a directors eye and the effort involved-when you are the Director, producer, actor, editor, camera operator, prop guy, best
