2015 WEENIE ROAST!!!! Lets finalize it.
Hey guys,... just thinking maybe we could do another weenie roast this year. I won't be at the campgrounds, but thought maybe we could do it at one of
the pavilions at Dunes Park (or whatever the name is of the fancy parking area by kite beach).
Maybe lunch? Maybe Dinner? Dunno.
Just thinking out loud. I really enjoyed it 2 yrs ago when we all got together and ate hotdogs cooked (many burnt) over the fire and enjoyed each
other's company... Thought maybe we could do it again.
Thoughts?
I'm going to take a nap now

Weenie roast
Hi there gang. Been a while, was having problems with my somehow lost PKF registration.
Last year was a washout at the camp ground for me so I like the idea of the pavilion for some good ole weenie fellowship under cover. Did those last
few words sound weird? You know what I mean.
Might want to ask Angus to see if we have to reserve it in advance
and what hours we can use it till.
Anybody got a villa with a pool?

Hey All, I am so ready for a week at JIBE!
Last year we had an impromptu lunch cookout at the kitefort on Thursday (or Friday?). That worked out real well, and I know Angus mentioned that we
should do it again this year. Also, last I heard, this year the kitefort will be need to be at Great Dunes Park anyway, just south of where it
normally stays. Who needs a pavilion when we've got a KITEFORT!!

Hey Angus, now that you're back on the forum, do you have any input?... You think we can take over one of the smaller pavilions and do some burgers
and dogs one day for lunch?
Do you HAVE to rent the pavilions or are they "up for grabs"... Or should we get a small grill to set up outside the kite fort? (If that's ok with
Chris)
I'm going to take a nap now

Yeah Spencer we should be cool. I have a call into the Jekyll Island Authority to make sure we have all our permits secured. Last I checked, only the
Great Dunes Pavilion deck requires a reservation and fee. It is used a lot for weddings and all kinds of civic stuff. The other little shelters with
grills are up for first come, first served, and there are plenty of them. There is usually electricity and running water nearby too. I'll double check
tomorrow.
Sounds like a hoot!

I guess I was so wrapped up in getting back to the kitefort that I forgot about the small pavilions. One of those would work great. I'll bring the
cookies!
Hey Angus, where exactly will the kitefort be this year - has that been determined yet?

I just spoke w/ JIA. Kitefort will be just south of old location in NE corner of Great Dunes Park. The restaurant parking lot is no longer
state-managed and is now privately managed by the new restaurant slated to open April 16. I'll survey the site later this weekend when back in town
and post pics.

We re-surveyed the site and it looks good. There is a small picnic pavilion with one table, one grill and four electrical outlets and they are 60'
from where you would park the Kite Fort. I have a couple of 100' extension cords. Water is more of a task, having to go another 100' or so to the
great dunes deck and spigots.
I'll post pics when I get to another PC.

My car is parked where Kite Fort will be (first three spots are handicapped). The picnic pavilion in the foreground is 60' from the car. By way of
reference to where we are, the weather station pole, located right in front of the old Kite Fort location, can be seen to the right in the picture.

Angus, any chance Chris could park parallel to the sidewalk? I know that would take up 3-4 spots, but it might be a better set up for the kitefort.
It would be nice to have the awning face the beach and pavilions. Possible, or asking too much?
