i'll recommend flysurfer kites. excellent lowend, overpressure valves, good safety system, parallel quality with Ozone, closed cell so
water-relaunchable, great customer service, lots of help like on foilzone.com.
i've been on FS for 4 yrs now. the kites just do what they are supposed to.

I sure like the Pulse. So much so, that I'm looking for a 7m.
EDIT: Make that a 17m Flysurfer Silver Arrow for those light wind days

Well, there is a Flexifoil Sabre2 depower kite but from my experience, I like Frenzy 07 better.

I think something around 10m (foil) is a good start for a depowerable.
What about Peter Lynns? Some guys love em!

I love the PL kites to bits, they're super stable, good power, good lift, nice all around kites, There's something to be said for tying your kite to
the bumper while you're having lunch and just leaving it there sitting happily at zenith.
Big problem with the PL kites is they need wind, anything under 10mph, leave it in the bag, you may get it to fly, but it won't perform properly, my
13m Venom really liked 15mph + to be fun.
Flysurfers are the best around, but you pay dearly for it.

Dagon - are you going to use it with a mountainboard or just a buggy?
That would help us figure out a size.
Not sure about Frenzys - I've read very good things about them. I had a 9.5m HQ Montana, but I never really gave it a chance and I went back to
Blades.
Then I figured I should have a go on depowers again. I read all I could and went for a Flysurfer.
The closed cell design is really stable! And the amount of depower is incredible and the new Speed 2 and Psycho 3 are rated even better.
I also like the idea of getting onto water this summer.

I've owned Frenzy07 10M less than a month now but I can see why it has such a good reputation. My other depowers kites so far were HQ Montana,
Flexifoil Sabre 1 and 2. They all have good things to say but at the same time they have some minor things I didn't like that much. On the other
hand, there is nothing I don't like about Frenzy. When I was doing landboarding on the beach with Frenzy, all I had to do was just enjoying my ride

Leebrianh - What kind of winds can you fly (safe) the 10m Frenzy in?
Just wondering what the top and bottom end are?

I didn't check the wind speed but I probably feel comfortable flying Frenzy 10M in between 10 and 15 mph. I am still learning but I am sure you can
fly it over 15mph with some experience and power adjustment. - Brian

I want it mainly for buggy but I figure it can be a good segway into landboarding and snowkiting. So basically for all around use.

The new Montana 2 and HQ Apex are both coming out. Both are reseasonably priced as well for being depowerable kites. I haven't had a chance to fly
either myself, however, from what I hear the changes they've made to the Montana are great and provide more lift, more depower, amongst other things.
The apex is similar to the Ozone Access, backcountry style kite with less lift but great depower and pull.
If you're considering getting into watersports maybe the flysurfer or PL kites? I wish HQ would come out with a twinskin or closed cell foil
myself...I'd love it. From what I hear Ozone is in the process of making one as well that should be released next year. They're definitely catching on
that those of us that love our landsports would like to occassionally hit the water without having to purchase all new kiting gear to do so.
