Reactor II 10.8m. Red/ White w/ Lines & Handles
This truck of a kite is lightly used, no damage, just a little Jekyll Island sand.
I recommend this kite for smooth and predictable winds, such as coastal, as the wind range is narrow, about 2-3 to 7 mph, depending on your experience
with the kite and you weight. I recommend using a strop and harness with this kite, at least for anything upwind.
One cool thing about this kite is that in the right hands, it can be launched in 2-3 mph, then once apparent wind is gained, can continue in something
less. I have sailed past motionless wind socks with this thing. Launch in a puff, get it high, then downturn and let gravity hand you the apparent
wind you need to set off.
$470 + shipping or try/ buy at JIBE.
Pics to follow. Lines are likely 20 m and in great shape.

I would like to try that kite out for sure. I love my 8.6m. I have had great luck in light winds with it. I wonder what the low end gain is like
between the 8.6m and 10.8m.

You need this kite if there are days when the 8.6 just won't cut it:evil:

The 8.6 needs about 6 mph to pull you. Like Ron and Angus say, this one will go down to 2-3.

How is that possible if the 19m S3 Deluxe won't pull a buggy in 3 mph? Double the projected area, and the S3 is large enough that it even gains some
lift from thermal buoyancy once the sun hits it for long enough. I would love to believe that adding 1.6m to my 8.6m Reactor would make it pull a
buggy in 3mph, but that is 16.2m Vapor territory...
At any rate, I almost hope we get a skunk day at JIBE so I can put this to the test!

drag, efficiency , the depower action in ultra light air is not needed. trim to fly unhooked it will go low but you need dynamic system to feed
power. getting the whole thing going is the first trick, then keep it going , balance speed and power

I believe there are diminishing returns in sail area (weight) and big bridles (weight and drag) esp at the low end. Remember I did say that this kite
has a narrow range, and that implies more narrow than the big S3.

Since it was run thru like marathon finish line tape by Cheesy (completely my fault ). It needs a bit of repair. Marjin said it would be about 160
bucks to repair. Since all I fly now is PKD , it's not worth it to me to repair.
The story is.... Cheesy and myself were riding parallel to each other across the beach. When I downlooped at the turn spot,I underestimated how
far I would drift, and clipped one of his lines.Which caused the kite to nosedive directly in front of him. Needless to say,it didn't stop him. I
have a vid somewhere. And that is why I am US187. 187 is police code for a homicide. Guess I'm a "kite killer" now. So I'm gonna burn the body.

FSers come with stock 21m lines. Of course the mixers add length. If you were to add 6 meter extensions on your 19 it will pull you in 3. I had a SA 2
19 which are a bit grungier on the bottom end. The SA3 have better top end. I'm pretty sure my 19 would work at 3 with 21m lines. I currently own a SA
2 15m at she pulls in 5 at 21m. I should mention this is on hard pack beach............If you need I extensions PZ is the ticket............. :duh::duh:

I spent an entire day with Angus and this kite flying my same model. That day is how I nailed down it's wind range for reference. It would fly in
wind you could barely detect on the back of your neck.
Another day Angus joined me at St. Augustine and I just couldn't get rolling with my 8.3 Reactor. He went back to the car and got his big Reactor and
18m Phantom. We both rode the rest of the tide cycle with those two.

Speed equals power. I have had both the 10.8 RI and 19 SA 2 .
You can force the 10.8 to get moving and turn much easier. Both kites thrive on apparent wind but from my little time on the SA it is hard to create
that wind by flying the kite hard and fast.
Even in a decent sized park like ours the 10.8 just has enough room to shine. It seems I need lots more space to get the most out of my SA.
I am not sure I have total regret selling my 10.8 RI but it may be the best low wind kite I've owned. I know I love to see it being used locally.
