Spring SOBB 2015
Spring SOBB buggy camp will be open Friday 23rd and Phil said the Porta potty and trash bin will be set up and ready. Morrie , Jimmy, Richard and
myself will be available for questions or help. Morrie will have his famous spaghetti on the first Saturday with pot lucks to follow during the week.
West winds have been prevalent this spring and we hope for more during the event. There will be a competition, or drawing for some foils from KBSS.
Sunset Beach is the buggy spot unless winds take us to the river beach. Exciting new year, hope to see you all!

Holy cow, I just looked at the calender and realized how close it is to SOBB. Time is just flying by. I thought for sure we had 2 weekends left
before the fun begins but nooo, just one. Right now the beach is in awesome condition and we have been getting some very nice winds. it's all
looking very promising. I haven't been hearing much on who all is planning on making it this year. So, who all is coming? Buggy camp will be setup again this year (thank you Phil) and it will be very
helpful to have an idea how many will be camping there. Looking forward to some great buggying with my awesome buggy family.

Back to the Basics and We Need Your Help
We’ll be going back to the basics for the spring SOBB event and we need you to let us know if you’ll be joining us for the fun.
Originally, the idea for setting up a camping area (AKA Phil’s place) for SOBB came about because it wasn’t possible for many to rent RV or tent
spaces in the local parks due to the holiday influx. Later it evolved to include a week-long orgy of food and drink, much of which was due to the
tireless work of a few (mainly Eli and Sean). While that was wonderful and we greatly appreciate everyone’s hard work, there needs to be a change.
So, at the spring SOBB (Saturday, May 23rd – Sunday, May31st), the camp site will be just that - a place to pitch your tent or park your RV. Everyone
will be on their own for meals. Of course we can still gather together and tell tall tales (bulls---) and the tent will be there to huddle under if
it rains. The porta-potty and dumpster will be there too, IF THERE ARE ENOUGH OF YOU COMING TO MAKE USE OF THEM. This is where we NEED YOUR HELP!
We need to know how many people will be camping at Phil’s so that we know whether or not it makes sense to spend the money to rent these items.
Please email mmawilliams@comcast.net by this Sunday, May 17th and let us know the following:

I feel obligated to chime in with some facts. A few of you have called or emailed wondering whats going on this year? So if you're interested read
the following if not. Stop reading?
Last year we gave Phil the kitty that we raised at Camp, estimated $700 which should cover rentals if needed. Not from registration fees, but from
donation from all of you at camp!
The reason why I personally am not contributing labor/money/material is because 1 individual sent us a nasty email exclaiming that "we were f'ing up
HIS events reputation, and the HE is going to take it over". I will be happy to show anyone the emails.
So. year before last, after HE said SOBB. was over, I worked out a deal with our host to lease his property for 3 events. All of you helped secure
the event for 1 more year. Some of you came out early to help mow and edge the ground in preparation for OUR event.
I worked a few deals out locally with some service providers to help us catch up with maintenance.
I have lived and kited on Sunset beach for 25 years, never been disrespected by another kiter in my life until last fall.
The wind is always up and we kite daily. WE will be around, and kiting several great spots locally. As usual I look forward to seeing all of you,
and for those of you who chose not to come this year because of last years email fall out, I am sorry, but have a great time at the other cool spots
you all are going to ride this weekend.
Other than that, I have nothing else to say but I am awaiting a public apology to those who worked tirelessly at camp, I could care less personally.
Have a great week, see you at the beach!
