PL Lynx 7m & 9m DP kites and Magnet control bar w/lines -- SOLD --

--SOLD--

I am selling my Peter Lynn Lynx 7m & 9m DP kites along with my Magnet control bar with lines. For all practical purposes this is brand new equipment. I've flown the 9m twice on grass fields and the 7m once. I'm only selling these since I'm going to a single-skin quiver and because my bride insists that if I want new kites in the front door then old kites have to go out the back. :saint:

I will consider splitting these up on a case-by-case basis.

Costs new: 7m - $566; 9m - $647; bar - $382 = $1,595

$1,100 + shipping

My 7m Lynx is 1st generation and it's my go-to kite for my local field. Stable, quick and easy to throw through the wind window, and able to munch lots of gust.
PL even markets the Lynx for use on land (rather than snow) now. Steve has a great deal here for some lucky buyer.

Go ahead... tell me to "go fly a kite!" Please!

Howard - used to be KC67
Fly: A quiver of Lynx' and Cores (did someone say "Pansh"?), a couple o' Arcs, and a Rev to remind me about control
Ride: PL XR+
Where: 43.857899, -78.941661 and 38.970951, -74.828922

Thanks David (hiaguy!). I most certainly agree. I think the construction on them are fantastic. I'm just on such a single-skin bend right now that they just aren't fitting in.

Mood: Choosing your new depower foil quiver is hard...

How much overlap is there in wind range for the two kites? I'm wondering how useful having two so close in size might be... I know this can vary by model a lot, especially as you get smaller in depowers.

Volock - you are no doubt correct in thinking that these two kites would likely overlap somewhat in their power range. When I bought the pair of them I was thinking that together they would complete my winter kite quiver for snowkiting. The 9m would be the one I took out when the day's winds looked to be medium to light, while the 7m would be the one for medium to heavy wind days. Since conditions vary throughout the day around here I thought this was a great solution (and still do).

I believe you are right about the difference being greater as you get smaller in kite size. In my mind this is an "absolute" versus "relative" difference question. There is a 20% increase when you go up 2m from a 10m to 12m kite, but a 50% difference when you go up 2m from a 4m to 6m kite.

Since getting these kites I have become sort of obsessed with single-skinned kites and decided to complete my quiver with all SS. That being said, these Lynx kites are of fantastic quality and for all practical purposes brand new. If they don't sell I will be completely fine and will likely use the heck out of them this winter!

Thanks Windstruck. I wasn't sure if it was that those two kites really lacked overlap for both in your quiver or that you'd planned on just keeping the one that ended up suiting you better or that you and your bride were different sizes, so needed both to get you both out there.... I haven't figured out if I'm lucky my wife and I are close enough in weight to share kites size wise for the same wind, so it means I can have more models to choose from, or unlucky as were there a weight difference, I could end up with all the sizes, and be able to choose an ideal one no matter what.

My experience I've usually gone for 3-4m apart in depower sizes, so there wasn't much overlap, as my 7m just ended up unused as much as my 5m and 9m. Damn them making these kites have so much depower range these days. I know what you mean about your wind, I got up to skyline once this past winter to have some fun, if only there were a more direct route from Albuquerque
