wheels...
OK.
I am jonesing for a buggy.
I have been watching for posts, but nothing.
I even tried the kijiji post from kitchener, but it was gone.
Does anybody have something on or near the west coast (preferably northerly) that they would be willing to sell (or even rent)?
Ideally, I would like something larger and sturdier to fit my xxl body, but as I don't have a lot of huge fields/ beaches locally something of average
size with some maneuverability would do.
I don't want to spend a whole pile of $ just yet, but damn it, I have to get mobile.
Surely some one has an old rig that is collecting dust...
I am planning on visiting the Washington/Oregon coast in August so could possibly pick something up.
I would love to make this Colins' summer of the buggy!
Thanks for looking, and wish me luck,
colin

Colin - best of luck on you quest! I know this is tough; I went through this exact problem earlier this year. Timing is everything I'd think. My
first buggy was a PL Folding bug bought right here on PKF. My second buggy (PL Bigfoot) was off of eBay. Better lucky than good; a land sailer out of
Las Vegas was selling a near-new Bug that he had acquired from a friend but he didn't want to take up buggying.
I just checked eBay and there is a folding buggy on there (search for Peter Lynn buggy). Guy is asking $660 for it. IMHO that is too much money. Also,
you mentioned something about having an XXL body. Depending on how that XXL goodness is spread out you may find the PL Folding buggy too small for
your needs. I'm 6 feet tall and about 200-210 lbs and I found myself a little "snug" in the Folding bug.
I suspect you know this already, but be aware that PL (and I think some other brands) have evolved somewhat over the years, particularly as it relates
to tube thickness, and importantly, rear axle bolt sizes. PL started with 12mm bolts in the rear, moved up to 15mm, and now uses 20mm (all models
except the smallest entry level model). I would think that an XXL would only want to ride on 20mm, but that's only my opinion. I've read on the forum
of large guys (even two large guys at once, but I'm still trying to rid my mind of that visual) riding PL buggies with the older smaller bolts without
apparent consequences so maybe I'm wrong about that.
For what it's worth, the BigFoot buggy is sweet IMHO. It is way bigger and more sturdy feeling than the folding bug and just seems altogether a better
ride. Just to peg values somewhere I'll tell you that my folding bug went in and out of my hands for about $450 and my Bigfoot went into my hands for
an even $500 plus shipping.
Best of luck! Once you do get a buggy it will be worth the trouble and patience; they're a blast!

That Sprinter is an awesome buggy btw. Leaps and bounds better than a PL folder or XR+.

I had to look up some pictures of the Sprinter as I've never seen one in the flesh. I agree with Cheezy; it has a sweet design and looks very nicely
made and sturdy. I particularly liked the curved side rails and resulting larger seat with standard backrest. I haven't noticed the lack of a
backrest as an issue on my Bigfoot, but a lot of folks on PKF have made mention of that being a problem for them and have gone to considerable effort
to retrofit buggies with all sorts of interesting backrest designs. The PL buggies all come stock with horizontally flat side rails and a resulting
comparatively small bucket seat that only comes up to the plane of the side rails.
My riding to date has only been on soccer fields that result in a lot of turning which means the forces are changing a lot on my body. Maybe if I had
long runs on a beach with relatively unchanging conditions I would notice the need for a backrest on a Bigfoot. You've mentioned being XXL and I
believe it is some like-sized folks that have made some of these comments, though certainly not exclusively.

Nice try Jason, but I'm sure your diet should read "beans and rice..... and beer". It's not just for breakfast anymore you know.
