Vapor 2

A full set can be had for a mere $12,240 kite only.

Kites like the chrono and sonic don't seem as expensive when you look at it that way.

I'm not sure.

To be fair, $5,400 of the total is the 4 largest sizes which unless your racing, you probably wouldn't need.

The 4 largest size are 10.1, 12, 14.1, 16.6

I actually had no idea you could get a fixed bridle that big.

Sean, I think race kites are the only ones you CAN get that big... particularly the Vapor... There used to be a YouTube vid of a guy on a 16m Vapor booking like crazy in 3 mph winds... I'll look and see if I can find it.

I often thought of a giant fixed bridle for those "non wind" days, but any amount of gust factor will have you seriously over powered before you know what happened. Just wouldn't work well in Wisconsin. Now if I lived on the coast somewhere I'd be game...

I've got a 16.1 Vapor and the thing is an absolute beast! You can truly fly it in the lightest of winds. But it rarely gets used. Should have just got an 11 or 12m and put on an extra 10 meter lineset.

I'm in the process of saving some money for the 8.6. I here the 2's are pretty sweet!

That's a pretty bit of ripstop. What's it got for a wind range? He was sliding sideways in 4mph, it must be all over by 7mph.

Wow, that 2.7 has the same upper wind range as the old 2.3. The 2.3 was very nice to have on high wind days on Ivanpah. I wondered why they cut the smallest size. I've spend 3 years amassing a small sizes half set of original vapors. I'm not getting on the upgrade bandwagon all at once, but might pick up some critical sizes as opportunities come up. They are sweet kites in smooth winds.

The 2.3 Vapor really was too much of a handfull, quite a lot of pilots opted for the small 2.2 Reactor instead as it's more stable, that's why we cut the smallest size.

I've flown or owned both and the small Reactor was an angry little kite in the winds I needed it for. 2.3 Vapor is tame by comparison in regards to stability and predictability.
