Too early to get stoked for another snow season?

All reports I have heard talk of a warm, dry winter for the Rockies this year due to a large El Niņo that is sitting in the Eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean.

Here's hoping that the snow we got in the alpine yesterday will keep coming in late September. There were a large flakes mixed with heavy rain in Calgary yesterday afternoon when the temperature hit 3C (37F) but no repeat of the dump we had last September 12th.

Here is a shot from Sunshine Meadows this morning.

NICE!!!! And, no, never too early. Beautiful picture BTW.

Living here in Park City, UT I pretty much stare at ski lines all summer. I'm new to mobile traction kiting this year and plan to snow kite a bunch this winter so now I'm checking out all the kiting places too!!! :singing:

YES
Then again, your summer isn't really long enough to get in much seat time.

45 days 'till WBB :wee:

I also feel it's way too early to be thinking about snow again after the winter we had last year in the North East. That is a beautiful picture though. If I had my preference, I would still be land boarding in January and February and not struggling with snow and ice. I'm fully in favor of snow on the mountains year round.

Not too early in my opinion:D I think about skiing all summer long......even while I'm bugging. I think I have a brain defect that automatically defaults to snow and ice. Can't get enough of it, so it seems.

OK Skim, the Mont Blanc Speed Skiing was maybe the single best sports video I've ever watched. Thank you so much for that post. I pretty much with Cheddar on this one. Hardly a defect, rather, just a hard wiring for winter paradise. What are other people missing? I can't wait to try this new love of traction kiting out on snow with skis. Am I wasting my money buying a Seasons Pass this summer? :P

Yes...the speed Flying on Mt Blanc is about my very favorite action adventure video I've seen. A perfect short attention span 10 minutes!
The whole time watching it(the first time) I'm wondering how it's going to end as you see the valley getting drier(less snow) and drier below... and they're still going down. Besides the beauty and excitement , the ending is just fantastic.

I cant help but fantasize about doing it.
----------------------------------
And so you haven't yet Kite skied yet, Windstruck? You WILL be in paradise. Get to a big frozen Lake in your area. Kite skating too if no snow.
On Land..? I don't know if you have open treeless areas...So lakes are at least your winter play zone anyway.( I really only have lakes suitable for good wind and space.)

Last Winter was tremendous In the Northeast(N. of Boston). Lucky I have a lake 6 blocks from home (in a city suburb!). I also go north to mountains for the valley lakes a couple hours away, for early or late season(and middle too!)

This is a guy Kiting 'in the city'-6 blocks from my door:

They offers speed flying intro for 240 euro..I am tempering to do it with one of my skydiver coworker! If I like it then I need to save up a bunch of $$$$ to purchase one of my own fly! :D. Last I heard that the fly is around 3,000 USD :o
