Hurricane Joaquin?

I shipped my buggy along with kites and a bunch of goodies on Tuesday for delivery to WBB next week. I have most everything else ready to go along with a ride to the airport, granddaughter will watch the place while were gone, mail has been stopped for the week, and other important things.
I am ready to have a great time at Wildwood Buggy Bash.
Now I have to see if my airplane ticket is refundable and how much trouble it will be to cancel my reservation at the Shalimar and try to get my buggy and stuff sent back to me. I have never watched so much of the weather channel in my life. I know my problem isn't nearly as bad as those that live on the East Coast, but I live 2500 miles away and its not looking good for me either.

I hope the best for everyone that will be effected by the hurricane, but it still sucks.

Come on over Jeff.
By the time the beach is ready for us (or vice versa) Joaquin will be a memory.
(That's my prayer, and I'm sticking' to it!)

... 7 days to WBB ...

Go ahead... tell me to "go fly a kite!" Please!

As long as I can land in Philly on Tuesday, I can do or go anywhere as long as I can get back to Philly the following Monday to fly home. Are the leaves turning colors in Maine yet? I like the fall colors......as long as Joaquin leaves a few on the trees.

dont try and reason with hurricane season

Squalls out on the gulf stream,
Big storms coming soon.
I passed out in my hammock,
God, I slept way past noon.
Stood up and tried to focus,
I hoped I wouldn't have to look far.
I knew I could use a Bloody Mary,
So I stumbled next door to the bar....J.B.

Like Donnie said, looks like it may head out to sea! If it is looking that way now, the chances are that it may turn even sharper out to sea, giving us a little rain on Tuesday, then hopefully some nice winds afterwards! We flew the day before a hurricane hit not all that long ago, e beach was crowded with kites and buggies! Hurrican party at WBB in conference room!

I wonder if the hurricane will take a crazy track like Doublespeed360(Paul) did during his infamous crazy buggy ride ..?

Paul caused exactly $1.12 in damage during his 2011 track .
He evaded several tolls and clotheslined several seagulls with his kite lines.

Hoping storm is well by us by Weds and sun and good winds dominate the event.

Watching the news it seems that the worst is yet to come. With all the flooding and the rainfall from Virginia south, hurricane Joaquin is going to be a nasty mess all along the East Coast.
I decided last night to make the trip one way or the other. Even if there's no wind, no bugging, no beach, the people that come to this event are worth the trip alone, even Konrad.;)
I think my pain meds are speaking at this point. Ha ha.
We leave in 4 days......

Fair enough... Then again, being landlocked in New Mexico, any water/sandy beach seems worth the cost... Not going to make it to WWBB but would love to one day. Stay safe everyone

Just spoke with Aldo from the Shalimar. All is well and they are awaiting our arrival! I am not sure what the beach looks like where we set up but I'm sure it will be good to go in a day or so if it isn't already. If anyone from the city calls I will be sure to let everyone know ASAP. Let's get this party started. One more day till I head out!
