Need a good depower kite for snow!
I've tried a few depower kites before.. first was Offroad 7.1 didn't like it.. second was flysurfer titan and it has a little too much lift for me. So
I'm looking for easy going depower maybe like Ozone Access or Montana, maybe Apex? I could afford up to 400$ maybe little over within my budget.
I'm not looking for brand new kite but I'm looking for a few years old kites that are still working and will give me a couple of uses! I have 3m HQ
Beamer and i love it on high wind day but I need something for mild and high wind in Germany for kiteskiing and when I get back home to US I'll be
using it for landboard as well. Shipping to APO AE address!
Post here a couple of recommendation or if you have some for sale! Thanks

The ozone access and HQ apex would be perfect kites for your choice. both I believe are available in 8m sizes which would be good for the winds you
described. The apex versions 2 and 3 were good but the apex 4 needed a lot of tuning to flyright, so bear tht in mind if youre looking for a used
one. The frenzy and montana have a lot of lift so may be are not good choices.

not a 6 and an 8. Way too much overlap. 7-20 mph is a pretty big wind range for one kite especially given the lulls you'll experience at 7 and the
gusts likely to accompany a 20 mph wind. At 145, that is a two or 3 kite quiver for me as I'd want something big with a high A/R for 7 mph days and
something small and low A/R for 20+
Depower Quiver: 14m Gin Eskimo, 10m Gin Eskimo III, 6m Gin Yeti, 4.5m Gin Yeti (custom bridle and mixer)
Fixed Bridle Quiver: MAC Bego 400, JOJO ET Instinct 2.5 & 5.5, Lil Devil 1.5, Sting 1.2

I haven't posted mine for sale yet but I have a set of HQ Apex kites.
Apex 3 - 5m
Apex 3 - 7.5m
Apex 4 - 11m (flies just fine without tuning)
I am considering replacing the 5m with a Peak or something more suited to gusts of 50-60km/h.
The Apex 4 overlaps with my Ozone Frenzy.
I bought the smaller ones from Feyd who is a reputable seller here and I sniped the Apex 4 off ebay. All are in very good condition. The 7.5m size
works well most of the time but someday I think I will probably upgrade to a performance model of some kind in that size.
Let me know if you are interested. To me, each of these is worth right around your price range. I would probably give up the 5 or the 11 quicker
though. I have used the 11m in 15-20mph+ but I do not recommend it if you are already trying to avoid being lifted. It makes a very nicely powered
kite for 7-15 though.
Maybe I should just post em up on the for sale section instead - looks like you want the middle one more.

I agree with B-roc and he likes smaller kites than me. I can't work a ride out of my 7m until around 10 mph and have to spank the heck out of it in
that wind. That is with a relatively low resistance surface. Just because a kite will fly doesn't mean it can create usable power.
Like B' suggests you pretty much need 2 kites for 7 - 20. Generally a 3 kite quiver is best.
If you MUST go with 1 kite 10m tends to be the best " all round " size. It will still leave you wanting more kite in 7's and leave almost no room for
gusts past 20. Not ideal but a single kite quiver is far from ideal. With a 10 you can buy a 14+ for those > 7mph days and a 5 - 7 m for those over
20 days. ( with my 7 I still need my 2.5 profoil for those high 20 - 30's days.)
Try and contact arkay on here. He isn't on here often but has a 10m Pulse he may let go?
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.
Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

Damn.. so many choices so little money! Hmm so I am advanced skier and love to kiteskiing with my 3m Beamer in 15-20-ish MPH wind. But it is scary
for me on the mountainboard because I am intermediate..not advanced. I'm light and skinny guy like I say. 6'2'' and 180 lbs. Let say.. wind
averages 10-15 MPH on a good day.
Should I go for 10m Flysurfer Outlaw? Is it a easy learning process kite for depower?
If I have that for 7-15 mph then I can use my 3m Beamer for 15+mph right?
Thanks for all of your help, offers, and patience!

I used an 7.5m and 3m depower quiver for many years landboarding on asphalt. So an 8m should work fine together with the 3m fixed bridle you
already have . If you gonna be on grass then go one size up like a 9m or 10.

Yeah if what people say about the fixed bridles is true, you'll want at least a 7m depower. You probably have plenty of power in the 3m and that
would make a 5-6m kite a waste of overlap. Not sure what the FS Outlaw is like, but if it has the modern flysurfer depower range then it might be a
good choice. Depends a lot on the usual wind in your area. If you have a sort of on/off wind situation and not many in between days, you'd be all
set. Or you could stretch a large kite like that down near the range of a small kite after using it in lighter wind and gradually building up your
comfort level in stronger wind. Might have to sit out a few of the in-between days initially.
I use 10/11m depower kites (at sea level) in wind anywhere from 8mph to 20mph or up to even 25mph+ gusts if there's deep snow, lots of space and the
kite has good depower. Sometimes you realize one of the variables isn't as good as you need and you pull the kill switch. Obviously, it is
preferable to just switch to a different size kite when you have one. But with good ski ability, it is possible to push the range right to the edge.
I've seen 5m and 15m kites out in the same place at the same time. The guys flying the smaller ones are working them harder, but everyone is happy.

I am closing in to purchase one soon! Thanks guys for your feedback, support, and suggestions. I am going for either Flysurfer Outlaw! (Every time I
type or hear this name.. this song pop up in my mind! http://genius.com/Bruce-springsteen-outlaw-pete-lyrics ) or PL Lynx 9m! Sorry guys, I would buy them all if I won a lottery but I can only
purchase one at this time! Much thanks
