Kite Buggy wanted -ship
Looking to buy a simple buggy to take on the road in my camper.
Any PL or a Flexifoil would work. Not keen on a worn out model.
Willing to ship to east coast. Not in a hurry.

Cross over discussion from another thread:
http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=31336
To kitedrive: you don't stand guilty until proven innocent around here; we just have a family of sorts on PKF and we tend to look out for each other.
Welcome to the Monkey House BTW; always room for a few more good chimps!
One suggestion might be to get involved in some discussions that interest you about the forum; give the rest of us a chance to get to know you perhaps
before swapping money for valuable, hard-to-come-by buggies. Exact same thing happened to me too BTW earlier this year. I came across PKF looking
for a place to perhaps buy a used buggy and also led with a purchase request. Took a spell for folks to realize what a swell guy I was. :saint:

I still have my doubts... I mean claiming ice and snow getting in the way of kite skating, what are the odds of that? I think it's more just jealousy at you having the time to play with that getting useable snow
already/close to you.

Hi,t thanks for all your replies.
I would need the buggy shipped to South Carolina. I am going to take it to Baja, I could possibly stop on the way for the right deal.
To be clear for those worried...I am a buyer, the risk is on my side, not yours. I would pay first then you ship the buggy, so I am putting my head
out there. From looks of it you all seem to be a nice bunch.
I have been using friends buggies for 15 years, I am a wave kite-boarder with 2000+ days on the water.
I've been using the flexifoil buggy, but it never was very comfortable, I am 6'3. The PL looks better suited.
I would need something that is compact or easily assembled as it would go inside a cargo trailer with a whole bunch of other stuff. There is an ebay
auction for a foldable PL asking 760 plus 30 shipping, wide tires, looks mint, just hoping to spend a little less.

while I have only ridden a pl comp xr buggy, I think most say they prefer a flexi buggy to a pl for durability. I think most standard buggies are
similar in size although I could be wrong. I'm sure you will still be cramped in a pl buggy as I'm 5'9 and still cramped in mine a little. The pl
big foot buggy has a longer frame than normal and that may suit you better. All buggies break down fairly easy so you could even consider a libre if
you could find one. Used buggies are fairly rare. There was a pl with vtt rail kit in the fs section awhile back. may suit you if still available.
I don't think you have enough kite experience for buggy until you have 2001 days on water.

I would NOT recommend the folding buggy. Problems with both packing and your size. I'm 6'0" tall and used to own the folding buggy. I had the down
tube extended as much as I could and still was trying to get my legs straighter by moving the seat back. Moving the seat back screws up the fore/aft
balance and you fishtail too much. I sold the folding buggy here on PKF and bought a PL BigFoot. I've got the BF downtube adjusted now to its
shortest position and it fits me perfectly.
As for packing (and this may seem a little counter intuitive) it is easier to break down the BF than the Folding buggy. You undue two straps, give
the thing a shake and the back axle comes off. It is now in two parts that are easy to manage and easy to pack away. The folding buggy ends up as a
pretty massive cube of sorts that has to be lifted as one single piece. I have found it easier to find a spot for two longer pieces than one big
cube-like piece. Also, the BF is just much more sturdy than the folding buggy, as if it is the next quality level up.
I'm not trying to position the PL buggies above the Flexi. I just have never personally seen one in the flesh, much less ride in one so I can't
render an opinion. Folks with much more experience than me tend to give the nod to the Flexi over the Peter Lynn.
Hope this helps.

hey OP...yea that folder was on my local CL before it went ebay..another unused flexi around here too
sit tight something proper for your needs will show as long as you have time on your side
as far as fit...i tend to think the PL is better than the flexi for big folk...only because the seat is deep
i have both and tend to ride the PL...some say its fragile but i really do beat on it and have had no pblms

This is an awesome forum, thanks for all your great input. I will sit tight and wait for the right buggy. The PL bigfoot looks to be a great choice.
The flexifoil is the one I used on the longest setting, tight but manageable.
If anyone has one of either, I may be game. Thanks for the advice on the folding PL,..yes a big pile is a bear to handle.

While I have no experience with the PL buggies other than sitting in a folding one only briefly. I can vouch for the libre. Being a better fit for a
larger person. At 6'8" 290 lbs. I knew the moment I sat on the folding PL it was never going to work. I currently have a Libre V-max. It fits me
wonderfully. Very happy with it. It's not a folding, but with a small tool bag I can disassemble it and pack it in the trunk of my wife's car in a
matter of minutes. Just some food for thought. From one big guy to another. Happy hunting! And smooth sailing!
