Has any one tried "powered para gliding"?
We are heading to FL for a couple weeks and since my life insurance is fully paid up Sandy says I can try this. I am wondering if any one has tried
this? It looks really cool and I met some guys doing it in LI last month and we talked for quite a while about how cool it is.
Any input would be great.

We talk about it regularly. Would be an awesome way to scout lakes on non-wind days. Not to mention just a ton of fun.
Ran into a guy the other day just after he crashed his. Wrecked the prop, the ring etc. No injuries tho.

I also had a powered parachute back in the late 90's. Powered parachutes (kite of like a kite buggy you sit in and fly) are not quite the same as a
powered para glider (generally a back pack type unit), since they don't glide, but sometimes the usage of the terms gets a bit confused. My
impression that the powered para gliders are higher performance, but also harder to fly, but things may have changed a lot since I was in that sport.

possibly a little off topic but later on this year its my 40th birthday so my treat to myself is going to be a tandom parachute jump!
