Hi Folks,

I am looking to add another kite to my kit, I am looking for a 2.4m - 2.5m but cannot decide which one is best. The 2.4m Flexifoil sting '07 or 2.5m Beamer II, any advise as to which one is better. I have also checked out the 2.0m range from various manufactorers but I don't think that the 2.0m would give me the power for Buggying I am looking for in higher wind Approx 20-30 mph. Any advice would be great.

Glad the tweeks on your 3.6 lines worked out. Of course from your post you had nice clean, steady winds. Cant speak for the Sting but the 2.5 HQ would be a good engine for higher winds in the buggy. I would also sugest HQs Ferrari line, the Crossfire 1.7. Alot of good reviews on racekites forum concerning higher winds and buggys. Lastly, the Pansh Legend 2.0 has nice reviews for buggy and boardingin higher winds. Stable and power throughout the window, and you cant beat the price, $89! Id personally go for the Crossfire but if your on a budget, the Pansh Legend seems to be a good choice! Decisions, decisions................ as usual

Remember the new Beamers (III) are sized in whole numbers so you won't find the 2.5. but I bet there is old stock out there still.

For a good buggy engine, consider a Flexi Rage, they are a very stable and predictable fast kite with low lift and good pull for buggies. Crossfires are good too, but pickier about lumpy wind.

One of my new favorites is the Peter Lynn Reactor, but their lowest size in that is a 2.9. Good price for the quality.

If you have room for another option, Flexifoil Rage might be a good fit. It is stable and has good upwind capability. - Brian

I forgot to mention that the Rage is a replacement for the Bullet, so I f you find one of those, it's a good choice, too.

In the winds you are talking about (20-30mph) the 2.0 should have plenty enough power for you to buggy with (depending on the terrain you are on). For our group, the most common sized high-wind kite is the Ozone LDstunt 1.5m or the 2.2 Yakuza - just to throw in a couple more options.

All of the kites mentioned above are good suggestions. The Beamer is a good quality kite and is priced well, my suggestion out of the list would be the Beamer or the LDstunt.

I would look into a 2 meter kite for the high wind days. Not sure if you want a race kite or not. They can be hard to fly if you are new to the sport. Just remember a small kite will be very fast through the wind window. You might want to look at some kites with a lower aspect ratio for your high wind kite. I fly the PKD Brooza's. They only have four cells on the leading edge open and they do well in gusty winds, very stable.

I went for the Flexifoil Sting 2.4m (rasta color scheme) in the end. This kite is super stable in the air and responds well. The only let down I have is the handles:small and plastic, but not to worry I just swapped them with my beamer handles. The button hole is a great feature for getting the sand out easly, every kite should have one. So I'm stoked with my new kite, but I'm sure I'll be adding to my collection again sometime in the future. Can you ever have enough kites !!!!!!!!!!!
