Welcome to the forum. I'm down here in the OC and I haven't found any good place to land kite locally other then static flying at a park or the beach. Most of my kiting here is on the water. I have to head out to El Mirage or Ivanpah if I want to buggy. You're more than welcome to hit me up if you want to join me at ElMo or Ivanpah.

Awesome! Ill keep that in mind. Yea, its been hard to find a good spot. Im actually in the Pasadena area. I just wanna find a good park that has some regular wind. I found that out near Redlands off the 10 fwy are some really great windy and open parks and land. Just a hell of a drive from me.

Welcome to the forum Shogun!

I live in Agoura Hills but commute to the San Fernando Valley for work.

Unfortunately, I don't know the Pasadena area so I cannot recommend any places to kite there.

Other than the ocean and El Mirage finding open spots with good wind is not easy. When our spring winds start to blow I've got this little dirt patch (maybe 150-200yds long) that I'll use to buggy but it's very fickle. But for me it's a good outlet and does get good on occasion.

One thing I've really gotten into lately is streetkiting. I basically use a longbooard skateboard and an NPW style kite to push me around. For me it's a great way to simulate concrete surfing as I like to pretend I'm riding down a big wave and carving turns on the face. You also need much less wind and you can fly in the smallest of areas (if there are no wind obstructions). It's perfect for L.A. because there's asphalt and concrete everywhere ;)

Hope that helps a little bit...
