Help me determine value

Hey guys... I've got some overlap in my quiver and I'd like to invest in my other hobby so I'm considering selling my 4m Core. I just don't see myself wanting to use it since I have the 4m NS3.

I am a little on the fence because I've always loved that kite, but if it's not serving a purpose then I don't know if it's worth keeping. Problem is, the kite has repair work done which I know decreases the value. I blew out several cells on Jekyll island in 2013 and had it professionally repaired by Markite (the candian kite wonder). It is in absolutely stellar condition (even with that repair) and is an awesome kite that won me my PB on Jekyll at JIBE 2014. MarS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s repair job is top notch and the kite has ALWAYS performed as though there were never any problem. Great speed, super stable, awesome upwind.

I bought it new from BigMike and paid close to $400 for it (I think)... So if I decide to sell it, tell me what you think it's worth?

In 2011 bought my used 4m Core from Kent (AWOC): RTF with PL handles, decent lines, in a stuffsack (as advertised) rather than the PL backpack, for $285. It came with plenty of Ivanpah dust (also as advertised) - no rips, tears, or scuffs.

After flying the crap out of it for two years I decided to add new lines and gave it a good wash and re-seal with KiteRefit and it was as good as new - the original colours came back to life (the black was rich and the red popped) and it was almost crispy all over again. I haven't used it in the buggy for a couple of years, but still love flying it static as a workout.

If I were to list it, I'd probably ask $225 and negotiate from there. But I'm not selling my Cores. Ever.

Go ahead... tell me to "go fly a kite!" Please!

I think $250 is actually a good fair price for it, even considering repairs.

Im with weldngod on this one $200- $225- I will vouch for spencer though- his gear is taken care of very well and would guess this kite does not have very many hours on it

for those of us that are dealers of new and old kites and such, resale of used stuff is half of new. used more that a few times and showing some wear, 1/3 the cost of new. used and needing some repair but still able to fly fine with a boo boo fix, 1/4 that of new. just want to unload it? name your price. think its made of gold and want an arm and a leg? find someone who isnt using their arm and leg. just saying...

I think 50% for an older kite that is is good condition is fair. Your kite may be in good condition but is has been repaired. No matter how good the repair is, the value just goes down.

That being said, I have seen kites sell here on PKF for way more than I would have imagined possible...

The core is one of the best. Wish they never dropped the lineup.
