Our local 'Labor Day' gathering at Sandy Point. A bit of buggying at the other end of the beach at Waratah Bay when the wind was a little easterly
and a short trip to the other side of the beach which is Shallow Inlet. 3 days of light wind fun.
What is the story on the black kite with the flared wing tips?
( about 30 seconds in )
That's Joel's Sonic 9m. So far he's mentioned that it's extremely good at going fast, sits way forward in the window with great upwind ability.
Doesn't quite behave quite as nicely when sitting around and losing a little pressure though - it likes to be at speed. I haven't seen anyone
overtake him when he's been using it. I think he's pretty impressed with it.
I love how your gang mix it up! Everybody looks to fly / ride something different.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I saw pretty much every type of traction kite. Open cell foil, closed cell foil, fixed bridle, depower, arc, NPW,
SS depower, LEI; it was awesome. It reminds me of JIBE. Everyone flies something different.
