Its not MK, but bigkid makes/sells his AQR design. Works great. Just a humble suggestion. Several of us have them.

I've got the pulley Bigkid uses for his AQR, and it is VERY light weight. Very strong, but very light weight. I use it with a swivel snap shackle, but
not the pin lock shackle like Bigkid's. I have these exact parts. http://grazzer.me.uk/pictures/WichardHolt.jpg
In this picture, this guy has it hooked up backwards, but it lets you fully see exactly everything that is in the quick release. Normally you hook the
snap shackle to the pulley, and the little standard shackle goes to your D-spreader. When either you hook up the snap shackle to your AQR link in your
seat, or you pull the stopper ball yourself, the snap shackle stays with you, but releases the pulley and kite from you. The pulley is really light
weight and won't be heavy enough to do any harm downwind.

Excellent, thanks.
I love buying 'murican stuff, and will go see the bigkid. That MK is cool - but damn spendy.
Sunday I was standing at West Marine, mumbling over the blocks and shackles, scaring the tourists, and had a hard time explaining to the nice lady
what I needed this to do.

Hard time finding a D-spreader,too. Lots of hooks and wheels - but no 'd's.' Do I build one from the PL standard hook?

This setup is a very slight variation of a setup I have tried that one of my team riders had. A couple of things that I didn't like about it, but
that's me.
1 you have to use 2 hands to close the block and hold the strop in place before you launch the kite.
2 the beaner is "not break away" in case you need to exit the buggy in a hurry.
3 the anchor point for the beaner strap is connected to something too far from where it needs to be to activate before you leave the seat.
I used this qr and gave it a good shot as to "stand behind it". OK, it works. Anything is better than nothing. It's a cool setup, IMHO, because of the
points listed above it is harder to use and not as reliable.
I was able to jam the slide mechanism with sand and lack of lube, as with my setup. The pulley is custom made and requires a strop of 1/4 inch or
bigger diameter while mine is basically off the shelf with a simple modification.
Again without the cost being an issue, the installation of the parts to the harness and the buggy, it does work.
