Greetings All

I have greatly enjoyed reading through this forum as a 'visitor' over the last several weeks, and I decided today to register in order to be able to post. It is always refreshing to see how a shared interest in some item or hobby can promote positive camaraderie and even friendship, and after reading through a variety of the threads on this board, I see this to be true here.

In the last few weeks - partly from info obtained here on this board as well as other reviews from the net - I have purchased the Flexifoil Rage 2.5, Sting 3.3, and I have the Rage 4.7 coming this week. I also have a Prism Hypnotist stunt kite which I had prior, and if I really need to fly a kite on a very windy day, this one is fairly fun. It is however, not as fun as it used to be since I began flying the Power Kites.

Greeting All

I am new to the sport of Power Kiting, and at this point anyway, I am very happy simply taking my kites out to the beach or into large fields.

I live on the eastern coast of Connecticut and have been flying in a large field near my home as well as on what is known as East Beach in Watch Hill, RI. The beach is the best I have found.

Welcome, brockrock. I grew up in Stonington, but now live in western NY. Dave (rocfighter) might be closest to you in central CT. I have often wondered how the beach at Misquamicut or WatchHill would be. I was young before power kites!

Thanks for the replies. I am really enjoying the exercise factor of flying these kites. I find it to be a near full-body work-out on a good day. It seems to work arms, legs, back, and other areas due to constant muscle contraction. It also seems to be a very good cardio workout and a good form of agility building. I just turned 50 yo, and I'm in fairly fit shape, but after a long session, I am nicely sore the following day.

Hi Bob, The RI beaches are awesome, but will soon be too crowded for PS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-ing...at least during the day. Evenings will still be good though, as there will be plenty of open space if you walk down the beach a little ways from the main parking areas. These days, there are just a few walkers, and everybody that I come across seems very interested in these kites.

You need to get down to Nahant in Massachusetts. There you will find a great group of guys that will help, teach, and encourage your growth in this sport. They ride/fly almost every day.

Thank you for the info! I will definitely check that out. According to my Windfinder app, it looks like Wednesday afternoon could be nice out there, and I am supposed to get my Rage 4.7 tomorrow...just sayin...

The Nahant crew is on this forum. BuggyDanny, SkiMtWashington, Doneski are some of the people you should coordinate with. I am pretty sure Nahant is usable with any wind direction.
